So that you are aware of the situation, attached are copies of the complaints and court action taken to date. In addition, a letter was sent to Sheriff Skoralick requesting a review of the subject's pistol permit, to which no reply has been received as of this date. In the Past Mr. Kortright has verbally indicated that if his building was held up by officials that he \WJUld use a weapon or attack dog if need be. Mr. Kortwright owns B&H Tire Service, Route 9D in the Town of Wappinger. At the time he was wearing a firearm secured in a holster. I explained to Mr. Kortwright that he had to go through the site plan procedure to get a building permit for his building. He remarked that he w<Duld build his building permit or no pennit. He also told me not to come on his property or he would use his gun. I would like to request that the Town of Wappinger Justice Court issue an Order of Protection to insure the safety of the Inspectors and Administrators who have been threatened by this individual. LIEBERMANN Fire Inspector Office: 914-297-1373 February 15,1990 , .r~ Sheriff Fred Scoralick Dutchess County Sheriff 150 North Hamilton Street Poughkeepsie,New York 12601 Dear Sheriff Scoralick, On January 31,1990 an incident occured at the Town Hall on Middlebush Road where a subject in the building permit process entered the Town Hall wearing a holstered weapon and made threats to the Code Enforcement Officers of the Town of Wappinger.Attached are copies of all the letters,dep- ositions and order of protection. Trooper Saunders of the New York State Police in Fishkill was in Town Court at the time and handled the Criminal Summons that was issued by Judge Francese.
