1984-06-07 SPMA Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger
was held on June 7th, 1984 at the Town Hall, Mill Street,
Wappingers Falls, New York.

Present:

Gerard McCluskey, Councilman
Irene Paino, Councilwoman
Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk
Absent: Joseph Indoronato, Councilman
This meeting was set at the regular bi-monthly meeting on June
4th, 1984 for the purpose of authorizing the firm of Hayward and
Pakan to prepare the specifications of the new Town Hall for the
bidding process.
Mrs. Ballard reported on the publicinformation meeting for the
residents of the Town held on June 7th, 1984 prior to this meeting
and since there were no major objections by the residents to the
final design of the Town Hall presented by Mr. John Kane of Hayward
and Pakan and no objections to the procedure the Town intends to
follow to finance this project, she recommended that they proceed
to the next step outlined by this firm.
MRS. BALLARD moved to authorize the firm of Hayward and Pakan to
prepare the construction document phase for the new Town Hall which
will provide the Town Board with the specifications for the building.
Seconded by Mrs. Paino
Motion Unanimously Carried
Mr. McCluskey asked how long this construction phase would take
and Mr. Kane replied that they hope to have everything ready for
bids in late August and with normal weather they will be able to
break ground in September, the building closed in before the cold
weather and occupancy in the Spring of next year.
Mr. Versace had one item to discuss ---at the regular bi-monthly
meeting on June 4th, the Board authorized the Building Inspector
to hold up on building permits on the Carmel Heights Subdivision
due to a problem brought before the Town Board by a resident who
abuts that development. Mr. Versace had spoken to Mr. Segal,
developer of that subdivision and he has indicated to Mr. Versace
that the debris that was causing the problem to that resident will
be moved further away from that home into another area of that sub-
division more secluded where it will no longer aggravate the offended
party. Mr. Versace continued and stated.that the D.E.C. had given
permission to Mr. Segal to burn the debris and the Town has no
jurisdiction over the D.E.C. The Town has tried to satisfy this
resident and did what they could to assist him with his problem.
MR. VERSACE moved that the Building Inspector be authorized to
issued building permits to the Carmel Heights Subdivision with the
condition that the debris will be moved to an area that will not be
annoying to any other resident (this condition included at Mr.
McCluskey's request).
Seconded by Mr. McCluskey
Motion Unanimously Carried
There was no other business to come before the Board.
MR. MCCLUSKEY moved to close the Special Meeting, seconded by Mrs.
Paino and unanimously carried.
The Meeting closed at 9:54 P.M.
