: TOWN BOARD
FROM: William J., Bulger, justice of the Peace
SUBJECT: Resolution on First Claws Town
Gentlemen:
1 regret that I will be unable to attend the meeting set
for Tuesday, Sept. 20th, to bring -this up U - personally, but 1
will be at the State Magistrates meeting the Board has given
me permission to attend. At the meeting on Thursday, Sept.
15th, the Board passed a Resolutuion to place on the Ballot,
Nov.. 8, 1966, a proposition of asking the voters if they feel
we should become a Town of the First Class.
I feel that the Town Board should call on the Attorney
y`or the Town to draw up the proposition in such language that
.`_is meaning will be clear, and that a YEES vote will indicate
that the voter favors becoming a Town of the First Class, and
a NO vote shows opposition to becoming a First Class Town.
X call to your attention the fact that a proposition on
the New York City Ballot in Nov. 1966, concerning a Police
.Review Board, requires a YES vote if you are NOT in favor, and
a NO vote if you ARE in favor of the Review Board. I should
hate to see us have a First Class Town Proposition worded in
such a manner,
