Town Board
Town of Wappinger
P.O. Box 324
Wappingers Falls, New York 12590
Reference: Sanitary Sewer Lateral Connections
Dear Board Members:
It has recently come to my attention that the Town Code for slope on a
4" sanitary sewer lateral refers to the New York State Building Code for
compliance.
The New York State Building Code is somewhat ambiguous in this
matter, as it speaks, to what I believe to be, interior piping. I have
discussed this matter with the Building Inspector and the Dutchess
County Health Department and they concur.
I would recommend to the Town Board that the Town Code be changed
to stipulate that any sanitary sewer later connection from an individual
house be a minimum of 4" in size and have a minimum pitch of ~" per
foot.
I do not know what legal vehicle the Town must take to adopt this.
would recommend that the Attorney advise them as to what action
needs to be taken.
If there are any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Very truly yours,
