A Public Hearing was held by the Town Board of the Town of
Wappinger on February 22, 1982, at the Town Hall, Mill Street,
Village of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York, on a
proposed Local Law Amending Local Law No. 9 of the Year 1980,
Relating to the Imposition Charge and Collection of Water Rates
for the Consumption and use of Water for the Tall Trees Water
District.
Supervisor Diehl opened the .Hearing at 6:30 P.M.
Present:
Louis Diehl, Supervisor
Nicholas Johnson, Councilman
Bernice Mills, Councilwoman
Frank Versace, Councilman
Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk
Absent:
Gerard McCluskey, Councilman
Others Present:
Henry Cuatt, Comptroller
The Town Clerk offered for the record the Affidavits of Posting
and Publication duly signed and notarized. (These Affidavits are
attached hereto and made part thereof of the Minutes of this
Hearing).
Mr. Diehl asked if anyone had any comments.
Mr. Johnson asked for the figures on the surcharge and the regular
operation and maintenance charge. Mr. Cuatt replied that the annual
surcharge would be $68.32 for a five year period and the operation
and maintenance charge would be $46.04 for each quarter. Mr.
Johnson explained that the surcharge was strictly to pay back
monies owed by the district. Although this figure was included in
the Tall Trees Water District budget, it had to be enacted by the
Town Board by a local law, and a public hearing had to be held.
Mrs. Mills asked when the surcharge payment was due and was told
by the Comptroller it was due March 1st of 1982, 83, 84, 85 and 86.
There were no comments from the public when Mr. Diehl asked if
anyone wished to talk for or against the proposed Local Law.
Mrs. Mills moved to close the Public Hearing , seconded by
Mr. Diehl and unanimously carried.
The Hearing closed at 7:32 P.M.
