1981-05-20 SPM376. A Special Meeting was held by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger on May 20, 1981 at Town Hall, Mill Street, Village of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York. Supervisor Diehl opened the meeting at 4:12 P.M. Present: Louis Diehl, Supervisor Nicholas Johnson, Councilman Bernice Mills, Councilwoman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: Janet Reilly, Councilwoman Frank Versace, Councilman Others Present: Henry Cuatt, Comptroller This Special Meeting had been set at the Regular Meeting of the Town Board held May 11, 1981 for the purpose of awarding the bid for Sludge Removal from the Town Sewer Plants and also to consider action on awarding a bid for the Highway Dump Truck if the necessary information had been received. Two letters had been received from the Attorney on old business which Mr. Diehl wished to discuss ---the first was a request that the attorneys be authorized to engage a chemist of their choice for a fee not to exceed $250.00 in order to properly commence judicial proceedings against certain individuals relative to the unauthorized storage of hazardous wastes at the Mancini property. MRS. MILLS moved that the attorneys be authorized to engage a chemist for a fee not to exceed $250.00, as recommended by them in their letter of May 19, 1981. Seconded by Mr. Johnson Motion Unanimously Carried The second letter stated that Mr. Adams had received the necessary information relative to the dedication of Rose Lane and recommended approval by the Town Board. 377 The following resolution was introduced by COUNCILWOMAN MILLS who moved its adoption: WHEREAS, Danbury Savings & of certain property in the Town dedicate a parcel of land known Wappinger, Dutchess County, New and Loan Association, Incl, owner of Wappinger has offered to as Rose Lane in the Town of York, to the Town of Wappinger, WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has found that Rose Lane has been completed to the Town Specifications, and has favorably recommended the acceptance of said Road as and for a Public Town Road, and WHEREAS, that a maintenance bond to guarantee that said road has been installed in accordance with said Town's Highway Specification has been tendered to the Town Clerk in the sum of $10,000.00, NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Rose Lane as more particularly described in a deed from Danbury Savings & Loan Association, Inc., to the Town of Wappinger, dated the 26thof January,81, is hereby accepted as a Public Highway in the Town of Wappinger, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, ',that the name of the:h+vetd upon acceptance shall be Rose Lane. Seconded by: Mr. Johnson Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes 0 Nays The following letter was received: May 14, 1981 Honorable Louis D. Diehl Town Supervisor Town of Wappinger Town Hall Mill Street Wappingers Falls NY 12590 Dear Supervisor Diehl: This is in reference to your letter to Commissioner Morse, dated May 8,1981, in which you state the Town's intention to continue Hans Gunderud inhis provisional appointment and inquire as to any required procedures. The procedure as you described it is correct. Mr. Gunderud may continue serving provisional-l�iuntil establishment of the eligible list for Building Inspector-;". At that time, you make a permanent appointment .. frbb t] e : list,. purS-uant, to New -York State Civil Service Law. No further action is required from the Town at this time. MILLS moved to approve the extension of the provisional 373 appointment of Hans Gunderud as Building Inspector II for the Town of Wappinger until such time as the eligible list for this classification is established, as outlined in Mr. Lyons's letter. Seconded by Mr. Johnson Motion Unanimously Carried Three bids had been received and opened on May 20, 1981 by the Town Clerk en Sludge Removal, as follows: Murphy Sanitation Inc. Lafko Associates, Inc. M & 0 Sanitation C $50.00 /1000 gallons dal $44.50 /1000 gallons @ $42.50'/1000 gallons MR. DIEHL moved to award the bid for Sludge Removal to M & 0 Sanitation in the amount of $42.50 /1000 gallons as low bidder. Seconded by Mr. Johnson Motion Unanimously Carried Since no letter had been received from McCallum Chevrolet regarding a delivery date on the Highway Dump Truck, no action was taken by the Board in this matter.
