ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
TOWN OF WAPPINGER
Dear SirlMadam:
Annexed is my resume for your review and consideration regarding the secretarial position available at
the Town of Wappinger. Although my secretarial experience has primarily been in the field of law, I have
worked for many years performing different secretarial tasks needed to operate a business, such as
filing, answering phones, calendar scheduling and the like. I welcome the opportunity to branch out and
work in another secretarial field. Currently, I am working through an employment agency on an as
needed basis. I note that your ad requires flexibility, something which I have done both as an
independent contractor and am now doing with the employment agency, so I have no problem with this
aspect of the job requirement.
I look forward to hearing from you and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Very truly yours,
Teresa Scribner

Dear Teresa,
Thank you so much for providing the Town of Wappinger with your employment application.
We received an astounding forty-nine (49) applications in addition to yours to fill a single position. The
qualifications of all the applicants were high which made the selection process very difficult.
Unfortunately you have not been selected to move on to the interview process. Teresa, we will
keep your application in our town records and keep you in mind for any other positions that open up in
the near future. Should you see that we are hiring again in the future for a similar position or another
position you feel qualified to fill, don't take a chance that we might miss you, please call or send us a
note reminding us that you have an application on file.
