2009-07-04 Per Bundgaard Jensen 310 Rt. 82 Hopewell Jct. NY 12533 845 896 8543 C. J. Colsey Town Supervisor Wappingers Falls Hopewell Jct. 7/4/09 Dear Mr. Colsey. I monitored the Roadside clean up this year, since you last year put me on notice on just about everything with your comments in your letter to me. The clean up was very good this year, it was handled professionally, and things were done at the date window you said it would at least on this side of Rt. 82. However to gain another couple of percentage points on the total evaluation, you could simply have sent us all the website info on the actual days of cleaning up by the town in each location. After all you made up the list anyway. Since you do not pay more than a few cents with the bulk mail sorting it would be pin point info to the public. There were several places though on Old Hopewell Road items were lying for a long while waiting to be picked up. For me personally though with a 450 foot driveway, the effort by the town was wasted, since 1 have to put all the stuff in the truck anyway to get it to the road, so I might as well drive it over to the recycle center. The green notice card was fine except for the threats about law enforcement. Seems like government employees just love that power to threaten the public with police; "Freedom"? it is hard to believe that a country that claims to be part of the western world and constantly has to inform the rest of the world about the"freedom" has such an obsession with police enforcement. And remember, I saw several "piles" on old Hopewell road for almost a month later, so the police must have been too busy with the more profitable cell phone ticketing, or was it that the county police did not have time to come all the way down here to give tickets for those piles,- - - - -since we do not even have a town police dept. _ _ _ _ _ Then again why can I not have an old commode standing on my property anywhere? The bonus question: I saw several school board election posters, just on Old Hopewell Road into the month of June, now those people should have had law enforcement put on them right? Or do they fall into the privileged category? Or are they simply a higher species of humans {now remember I was in charge of all high level technical education in IBM E.F. in 1975 (I taught the first fully automatic chip production line in the world) - - - - -I am sure lots of other people would like to be considered at that level given their particular position in life) I know your job is not easy handling 30K people, especially when you have to get comments from idiot scientists like me, but since you actually work for all of us, I would think you would like all the input you can get. ~~~eIY, p~ensen Consulting Engineer designing FTIR NIR Spectroscopy instrumentation per .Jen@msn.com RECEIVED JUL 0 7 2009 TOWN CLERK The Town Recycling Center is open to residents on Wednesdays & Saturdays, 9am - Noon.
