BOARD MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board ofthe Town of Wappinger
will convene special meetings on the 17th day of November, 2008, and 19th day of
November, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls,
New York, for the purpose of reviewing and finalizing the Budget of said Town for the
fiscal year beginning January 1 S\ 2009.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that copies of the Preliminary Budget have
been filed in the office of the Town Clerk, at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road,
Wappingers Falls, New York, and are available for inspection during regular business
hours on Monday through Friday fro 8:30 A.M. to 4:00P.M.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GNEN that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger will
conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on the 11th day of August, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall,
Town of Wappinger, 20 Midd1ebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, at which time all parties
in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as to whether the Town Board of the
Town of Wappinger shall grant a hardship exemption from the Temporary Town-Wide Moratorium
on Residential Development to Jeffrey L. Strang for property located at 561-563 Old State Rd E
also known as Tax Parcel No. 135689-6157-02-580777. The applicant is seeking site plan approval
for a mixed use development on the parcel.

conduct a Public Hearing on the 23rd day of June 2008, at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall, 20
Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, at which time all parties in interest and
citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as to whether the Town Board of the Town of
Wappinger should amend the Schedule of Use Regulations - Nonresidential Districts of the
Zoning Law with Regard to Quasi-Public Schools and Educational Facilities.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that Town Board has detennined that the
Proposed Action is a Type I action pursuant to Article 8 of the Environmental Conservation
Law, Part 617 NYCRR (commonly known as "SEQRA") and pursuant to Chapter 117 of
the Town Code (the Town's Enviromnental Quality Review Law which establishes locally
designated Type I actions).
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Town Board has reserved its right to
make its Determination of Significance pursuant to SEQRA at the conclusion of the Public
Hearing to be held on the adoption of the proposed amendments.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger will
conduct a Public Hearing on the 23rd day of June 2008, at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall, 20
Middlebush Road, Wappingers Fall, New Yark at which time, all parties in interest and
citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as to whether the Town Board of the Town of
Wappinger should amend the Zoning Map with respect to a property owned by Global
Satellite, LLC at 21 Airport Drive from General Business (GB) to Airport Industry (AI);
and a zoning text amendment to allow "training schools or programs" as a Permitted
Principal Use in a number of nonresidential zoning districts.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board ofthe Town of Wappinger
will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on the 13th day of November, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at
the Town Hall, Town of Wappinger, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York,
at which time all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard as
to whether the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger shall adopt a proposed Local Law
which will authorize a partial exemption from real property taxation for Cold War Veterans
as authorized by S 458-b of the Real Property Tax Law.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the text of the proposed Local Law is
designed to implement the maximum real property tax exemption allowed to Cold War
Veterans, as follows:
A. Fifteen percent of the assessed value of qualified residential real property;
provided however, that such exemption shall not exceed twelve thousand dollars or the
product of twelve thousand dollars multiplied by the latest state equalization rate of the
assessing unit, or, in the case of a special assessing unit, the latest class ratio, whichever is
less.
B. In addition to the exemption provided above, where the Cold War Veterans
received a compensation rating from the United States Veterans' Affairs or from the United
States Department of Defense because of a service connected disability, qualifying
residential real property shall be exempt from taxation to the extent of the product

of the assessed value of such property, multiplied by fifty percent of the Cold War Veteran
disability rating; provided, however, that such exemption shall not exceed forty thousand
dollars, or the product of forty thousand dollars multiplied by the latest state equalization
rate for the assessing unit, or in the case of a special assessing unit, the latest class ratio,
whichever is less.
C. The exemption from real property taxation provided by this subdivision
shall only be applicable to town taxation, and is not applicable to taxes levied for county,
village or school purposes.
D. If a Cold War Veteran receives an exemption under section 458 or 458-a
of the Real Property Tax Law, the Cold War Veteran shall not be eligible to receive the
exemption pursuant to this local law.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Town Board has determined that
the enactment of the aforementioned Local Law is a Type II action as defined in
6 NYCRR 617.5 (c) (20), or pursuant to Local Law No.6 of 1992 of the Town of
Wappinger, and, accordingly, the Town Board hereby expressly determines that the
adoption of this Local Law is not an action that requires review pursuant to the provisions
of New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) or pursuant to Local
Law No.6 of 1992 or pursuant to 6 NYCRR Parts (617).
