WHEREAS, on Saturdly.'JafttIaty 22, 2005 and Sunday, January 2.3, 2005 a blizzard winter storm hit the Town of Weppinger, causing nearly . twenty inches of snowfall and dan- gerous winds in excess of 40 miles per hour, and WHEREAS, said blizzard made the roads end highways impassable causing dangerous and hazardous ~ditions for the traveling public, WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Highway Superintendent has re- quested that all roadways remain clear of parked vehicles as not to interfere with snow cleaning and .removal. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH RUGGIERO, SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER .under the powers granted to me by the State of New York in Article 28 of Executive Law, do hereby declare that a State of Snow Emergency eXists In the Town of Wappinger. AND, PURSllANT TO EXECU- TIVE LAW, I, JOSEPH RUGGIERO,SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER is- .sue the :following EXECUTivE ORDER: 1) I.direct the Town Highway Su- penntendent, Highway Depart- :ment, Town of Wappinger Patrol, . and request the assistance of the New York State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Depart- ment to take whatever steps are necessary to protect life aod prop- erty, public infrastructure. and other emergency assistance as deemed necessary. 2) Prohibit the parking of any ve- hicle on pUblic streets during the snow emergency un1il8 AM, Mon- day, January 24, 2005.
