The key to an effective fertilizer is having the right balance of nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The slow and continuous release of nitrogen is especially important, because it helps build stronger root systems and also limits surge growth associated with some fertilizers. We offer a 5-step fertilization program to help your lawn be the best that it could be! MOW, TRIM, BLOW: On a weekly basis, we will service your lawn. We generally attempt to arrive on or around the same day each week. This, of course, will be affected by weather conditions. We ask that the lawn area be kept clear of items that could damage our equipment (I.e. toys, garden tools, sporting equipment etc.) PRE-EMERGENT: .125 Dimension is a granular material that is mechanically applied to your turf. It is a crab grass control that works on germinating seeds as well as young plants. It contains a fertilizer (13-0-4) to feed the lawn with essential nutrients. POST EMERGENT WEED & FEED: SURGE (or like product) is a liquid post-emergent application designed to provide superior broad leaf weed control and inhibit the spread of dandelions in ornamental lawns and turf grasses. Essential in controlling chickweed, clover, thistle, dandelions and many other broad leaf weeds. It is used along with .125 Dimension crab grass control with Fertilizer (13-0-4). MALLET GRUB CONTROL: A granular application that is mechanically applied. This insecticide prevents and/or kills grubs that destroy your lawn area. It is also applied along with a 15-3-5 Fertilizer to feed your lawn with essential nutrients. JUL Y FERTILIZER: This is a granular application that is mechanically applied to your lawn. We use 12-4-8, 45% U Flexx and 50% natural base. This ORGANIC fertilizer adds nutrients to aid in feeding the turf through the summer. SEPTEMBER FERTILIZER (26-6-12) w/WEED CONTROL: This is a granular fertilizer (12-4-8) application that is mechanically placed on your lawn. This is needed to rejuvenate the lawn after the heat of the summer. We apply it with a broad leaf weed control (ie: SURGE or like product). Fall fertilization is also important because the lawn has passed through the stressful summer months and needs food to rebuild itself. During the fall season there is less competition from weeds, insects and diseases. Nutrients are required to take full advantage of the cool weather growth period to restore the lawn to full health and prepare it for the next summer. Developing a thick, deep, root system will help the lawn to survive the heat and drought of the following summer. An important function of turf grass roots is to store extra food in the form of carbohydrates that will be used later by the plant. These carbohydrate reserves are first drawn upon in spring to produce the flush of growth that is experienced each May. The reserve continues to supplement the plant through the heat of summer. LATE SEASON FERTILIZER (WINTERIZER): This is a granular application that is mechanically applied. It is considered one of the most important services. This fertilizer protects and feeds your lawn throughout the winter. Usually applied in November, this fertilizer will work down through any leaves, snow or ice that may be present on the lawn and feed the grass below. LIMING: A powder application mechanically spread over your lawn. This application is designed to adjust the pH level of your soil to allow your lawn to better utilize available nutrients and increase the response of fertilizer applications. CORE AERATION: Small holes are mechanically made through your lawn. This loosens the soil and improves water and nutrient penetration. This also encourages new turf growth. The Landscape Process www.lehighlandscaping.com THE 1ST STEP: By choosing to work with a landscape professional, you have already taken the first step in planning your landscape project. The goal of our first meeting is to establish your needs, talk about materials that are available, establish a budget range and ask questions to help us match our design to your budget and personal style. THE 2ND STEP: Our next goal is to discuss OUr design process and determine what type of design is needed for your project. Often, it can be beneficial to begin with a full master plan, so current and future projects maintain the design intent. Other times, a design of the specific area can be defined by measured specifications, and a proposal can be submitted without a design. THE 3RD STEP: After you have received your proposal or design presentation, an established budget will be helpful in prioritizing the areas that are most important for you to do this year. We are happy to work with . you in establishing stages of your project. THE 4TH STEP: Finally, it is important to become familiar with the proposed materials. Pictures of our installed projects, distributor brochures, pictures of proposed plants and addresses where we have done similar work, are all good ways to become familiar with your project. Please feel free to request any of these that you feel will be helpful in your decision making process. L.ndacaping. Inc.
