Dear Tyde:
I-am in receipt of your letter dated April 24, 1989
regarding the above project.
In this letter, you request connection of this parcel to the
Town Water District. For the record, the nearest Town Water
District is the Central Wappinger Water Improvement Area. I
should note for the record that this district is at or near
capacity with numerous remaining vacant parcels within the
limit of the district itself. It would therefore be my
opinion that the extension of this district to serve your
parcel would be an inappropriate action.
There are also two smaller districts near your parcel, the
Oakwood Water District and the Wappinger Park Water
District, however, both of these districts are small in
nature and limited to the amount of water they could serve.
Again, here I would recommend that the extension of these
districts would be inappropriate at this time.
The second alternative you request in the letter for
obtaining water supply is to connect to the Village of
Wappingers Falls water system. For the record, I would like
to state that I do also represent the Village of Wappingers
Falls and would recommend at this point in time that their
source of supply not be extended to serve your proposal.
This statement is made with the knowledge that there are
or will be a number of applications in front of the village
Planning Board that could tax the Village's source of water.

Attention: Tyde R. Richards
It should be noted that the potential sites for Village
sources are quite limited and therefore it would be my
opinion that the existing sources must be protected.
By copy of this letter, I am offering my opinion to the
Village of Wappingers Falls Water Commissioners and advise
them of the same.
In light of the above, it would be my recommendation that
the source for water supply for your proposal be obtained
on-site. From an engineering perspective, I view this as
the only viable alternative at the present time for
supplying your site with water. I therefore would recommend
that this alternative be fully explored during the SEQR
process on which you have now embarked.
Please be reminded that all work under this alternative must
be performed in a responsible manner with all facets studied
as outlined in the scoping session of April 24, 1989.
If you require further information, please do not hesitate
to contact me.
By copy of this letter, I am notifying the Zoning
Administrator and Planning Board of the Town of wappinger of
our position.
