NYPIRG Summer Outreach Program
NYPIRG Outreach Program Letter 2011.doc; NYPIRG Staff list 6.14.11.jpeg
To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for your time and cooperation throughout the summer as we continue to educate New Yorkers in the
Hudson Valley about important and pressing issues. We would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this
information to the police department so they are aware of our program this summer. We are planning to be in
the area during the months of June and July. Attached you will find a letter explaining and outlining some basic
information regarding our summer outreach program. You will also find a copy of our staff list with licenses.
Please note that we may not everyone in the field at all times. Each Canvasser has a picture ID Badge on the
back of their clipboard. Should you have any more questions please give me a call or shoot me an email. Thank
you again!
See you this summer!

NYPIRG1
NEW YORK
PUBLIC INTEREST
RESEARCH GROUP
Greetings:
We are writing to update you on the outreach plans for the New York Public Interest Research
Group Fund, Inc. (NYPIRG) for this coming summer.
NYPIRG, as you may know, is a non-partisan corporation organized in 1976 under the New
York State Not-for-profit Corporation Law. NYPIRG's areas of concern include consumer
protection, environmental preservation, public health and several other public policy issues. As a
charitable organization, NYPIRG files annual financial reports under the provisions of the New
York State Executive Law, Article 7 -A, with the Secretary of State. NYPIRG has been issued a
determination letter from the International Revenue Code section 501(c) (3). Contributions to
NYPIRG are tax deductible.
We anticipate conducting our door-to-door outreach in your community for a brief period
between May 1 and Aug 31. Our activities will entail circulating support statements, soliciting
small contributions, distributing information and recruiting support (letters, calls, participation)
on a variety of issues of concern to the community . Your office and local police department will
receive a list of our employees' names, identification numbers and address before we begin
working in your community. As always, we will coordinate our outreach activities with those of
other organizations to ensure we are contacting residents in the most professional manner.
This letter represents part of our commitment to cooperating fully with local municipalities while
we are conducting our outreach efforts. Toward that end, I ask that you please send me a written
confirmation of receipt of this letter for our files. If you have any questions or need more
information, do not hesitate to call me at (845) 2560053.
Thank you for your attention to this request.
Sincerely,
Kevin Stump
