Resolution Awarding Bids for Baseball Dug Outs Construction at the Town of Wappinger
Robinson Lane Park
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 13,
2011.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Bettina and seconded by
Supervisor Colsey.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger authorized the Town Supervisor and the
Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds to solicit bids for repairs to Robinson Lane Park structures
through Resolution No. 2011-161 on April 25, 2011; and
WHEREAS, construction specifications were developed by S & P Architects; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Supervisor and Recreation Chair solicited bids for
one (1) dugout in accordance with Town Code Chapter 46: Procurement Policy, which requires
"three written/fax quotations" for Public Works projects exceeding $10,000.01 and less than
$19,999.99; and
WHEREAS, legal advertisements soliciting proposals for construction of the dugout in
compliance with the construction specifications were placed in the Poughkeepsie Journal and
Southern Dutchess News, with Affidavits of Publication provided to the Town Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Supervisor received the following quotations on
May 27, 2011, as opened on May 31, 2011, in the presence of the Supervisor of Buildings and
Grounds, as forwarded to the Town Board in support of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received:

Ken McShea, House Doctor $15,532.00
WHEREAS, the Town Board hereby accepts the bids to be awarded to J. Lyons
Contracting, 10 Old Glenham Road, Glenham, NY, 12527, in the amount of Thirteen Thousand,
Nine Hundred Forty Dollars and 00/100 ($13,940.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby accepts the bids to be awarded to J. Lyons Contracting,
10 Old Glenham Road, Glenham, NY, 12527, in the amount of Thirteen
Thousand, Nine Hundred Forty Dollars and 00/100 ($13,940.00).
3. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor and Office of Code
Enforcement to issue a Building Permit for said construction and the waiver of the
application fee.
4. The Town Board directs all construction to be completed in full compliance with
the NYS Uniform Building Code and that occupancy of the structure shall not
occur until after a final and satisfactory inspection by a Town of Wappinger
Municipal Code Inspection Officer.
5. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor and Town Accountant to
issue a Purchase Order, upon completion of the construction and the issuance of a
Certificate of Occupancy in accordance with the award as payable from the
Parkland Trust account.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

There is to be no demolition of the existing dugout as per my phone conversation with the
recreation department.
