Further, I understand you inquired as to the process to be removed from the District if connecting was cost prohibitive. In review of the district history with the Town Attorney, you petitioned the Town to become part of the district through the former administration. I enclose a letter from the Town Engineer in respect to the proposed cost to connect to the district lateral and the expected cost to operate the pump(s). Should you move forward with this connection, you must seek a private professional or contractor. If you are seeking to be removed from the District, the cost would be quite extensive as it is not solely done at the local level. The development of a district is a process coordinated between the Town, County and State and can take many months. The cost to perform such action cannot be absorbed by the Town or the District, rather would be a private expense. In addition, the Town cannot guarantee the State will permit the action after considerable private expense. I hope the above and enclosures provide you with sufficient information to determine your course of action. Christopher Colsey, Supervisor Town of Wappinger Cc: William H. The cost for connection for each property will involve the installation of a one (1) horsepower sewer pump along with a storage tank and force main. The cost is estimated at $10,000 per residence. We do, however, recommend installation of a two (2) pump system. In addition, I have enclosed a calculation sheet that shows the power usage and cost for operating a one (1) horsepower sewer pump. The cost amounts to $1.08 per month. I also enclose a set of drawings from the phase 3A expansion that illustrates Mrs. Oliveri's connection as well as specifications for the pump. Please forward this information to Mrs. Oliveri as I told her this would be forthcoming from your office. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me. RJG/cb Ene!. NAOO5OP.01 General Features The model OH071 or DR071 grinder pump station is a complete unit that includes: the grinder pump, check valve, HOPE (high density polyethyl- ene) tank and controls. The OH071 or OR071 is packaged into a single complete unit, ready for installation. The DH071 is the "hardwired," or "wired,. model where a cable connects the motor controls to the level controls through watertight penetrations. The DR071 is the "radio frequency identification" (RFID), or "wireless," model that uses wireless technology to communicate between the Jevel controls and the motor controls. All solids are ground into fine particles, allowing them to pass easily through the pump, check valve and small diameter pipelines. Even objects not normally found in sewage, such as plastic, rubber, fiber, wood, etc., are ground into fine particles. The 1.25-inch discharge connection is adaptable to any piping materials, thereby allowing us to meet your local code requirements. The tank is made of tough corrosion- resistant HDPE. The optimum tank capacity of 70 gallons is based on computer studies of water usage patterns. A single DH071 or DR071 is ideal for one, average single-family home and can also be used for up to two average single-family homes where codes allow and with consent of the factory. This model can accommodate flows of 700 GPO. The internal check valve assembly. located in the grinder pump, is cus- tom-designed for non-clog, trouble-free operation. The grinder pump is automatically activated and runs infrequently for very short periods. The annual energy consumption is typically that of a 40- watt light bulb. Units are available for indoor and outdoor installations. Outdoor units are designed to accommodate a wide range of burial depths. Operational Information Motor 1 hp, 1,725 rpm, high torque, capaci- tor start, thermally protected, 120/ 240V, 60 Hz, 1 phase Inlet Connections 4-inch inlet grommet standard for OW\! pipe. Other inlet configurations available from the factory. Discharge Connections Pump discharge terminates in 1.25- inch NPT female thread. Can easily be adapted to 1 .25-inch PVC pipe or any other material required by local codes. Discharge * 15 gpm at 0 psig 11 gpm at 49 psig 7.8 gpm at 80 psig Overload Capacity The maximum pressure that the pump can generate is limited by the motor characteristics. The motor generates a pressure well below the rating of the piping and appurtenances. The auto- matic reset feature does not require manual operation following overload.
