NOTICE OF SECOND PUBLIC HEARIN TOWN Of WAPPINGER
ON PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AME DMEfOWN CLERK
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Newburgh has
before it a proposed Amendment to the Town of Newburgh Comprehensive Plan Update.
The Amendment contains proposed modifications to the Town's Zoning Map to rezone
(1) certain properties near Stewart Avenue and NYS Route 300 with frontage on
Interstate 84 and its Route 300 entrance ramp (Tax Map Section 97 Block 1 Lots 5 and 6)
from IB (Interchange Business) to the adjacent R-3 (Residential) Zoning District and (2)
a property on both sides of Patton Road at its intersection with NYS Route 52 (Old South
Plank Road) (Tax Map Section 47 Block 1 Lot 44) from B (Business) to the adjacent R-2
(Residential) Zoning District. The owners of the subject properties have requested these
Zoning Map changes. A copy of the draft Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan
Update is available for review at the Town Clerk's office, Town Hall, 1496 Route 300,
Newburgh, New York and on the Town's website: townofnewburgh.org. The Town
Board conducted a public hearing to consider the draft Amendment to the Comprehensive
Plan on September 19, 2011.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of
Newburgh will hold a second public hearing on March 5, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Town
Hall, 1496 Route 300, Newburgh, New York to further consider the draft Amendment to
the Comprehensive Plan and hear all persons interested in the same. This public hearing
will be held concurrently with the reopened hearings on the local laws that would
implement the subject changes to the Zoning Map.
The Town will make every effort to assure that the hearing is accessible to
persons with disabilities. Anyone requiring special assistance and/or reasonable
accommodations should contact the Town Clerk.
