WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, MEMBERS OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER
HEREBY WAIVE NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING TO BE HELD AT THE TOWN HALL,
MILL STREET, WAPPINGERS FALLS, NEW YORK ON THE li 15th day of January,
1972 a 7 O"Clock, P. M. Eastern Standard Time and We FURTHER CONSENT
TO SAID MEETING AND HEREBY AGREE THAT SAID MEETING IS CALLED FOR ANY
BUSINESS THAT MAY COME BEFORE THE BOARD.

Notide of Special Meeting, each for himself, Supervisor Diehl called the
Meetihg to order at 726 P.M.
Others Present: Allan E. Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town
Fred J. Lafko
The following resolution was introduced by Mr. Holt, who moved its
adoption:
WHEREAS the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger previously directed
Allan E. Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town, to file an objection with the
Department of Ehvironmental Conservation, with respect to the'application
of Atlas Water Company for an extension of its area of operation, and
WHEREAS conferences have been held with the principals of Atlas Water
Company concerning the application of Atlas Water Company to the Town for
the consent of the Town pursuant to Local Law #2, and further concerning
the possible incorporation of the proposed facilities of Atlas Water Company
into a Town Wide Water system, 0;c1 L
WHEREAS there is a public need,for a TOwn Wide Water system, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Wappinger hereby withdraws any
opposition to the application of Atlas Water Company for the extension of
its content area and the construction of a trunk line based upon the
understanding that said Company will take steps to comply with Local Law
#2 of 1967, and be it further
RESOLVED that Allan E. Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town is authorized
'and directed to notify the Department of EnvirOnmental Conservation of this
action arid he is further authorized to withdraw the Towns opposition to
said application.

The following resolution was introduced by Mr. Holt, who moved its
adoption:
RESOLVED that Allan E. Rappleyea and Rudolph E. Lapar are hereby
authoriied and directed to prepare the necessary legal and engineering
plans, respectively, for the formation of a Wa4r Improvement Area,
comprising generally the Wthldwood area and tie Quiet Acres area, as well
as the area now known as the Wappinger Sewer Improvement #1 Area, as well
as the lands along Route 9, where there now exists the major development
in the Town With the understanding that such planSwill include the lease
or purchase of facilities of the Atlas Water Company.
