1965-10-14 SPM(A Special Meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held on Thursday

evening October 14, 1965, in the Town Hall, Mill Street, WapRingaro Falls, N.Y.
Present: Supervisor R. H. Linge; Councilman George Robinso; Councilman
Louis Diehl; Justice of the Peace William J. Bulger; Justida of the Peace
Vincent Francese; Attorney for the Town, Harold H. Reilly; Deputy Town Clark
Agnes M. Grosenbeck.
A motion was made by Justice of the Peace Vincent Francese that the Town
Highway Superintendent's salary be placed in the General Funds, seconded by
Justice of the Peace Bulger.
Motion Carried
A resolution was made by Justice of the Peace William Bulger that Agnes M.
Grosenbeck, Deputy Town Clerk be given power to act in capacity of the Town
Clerk and have the power to sign checks for the Town Fee Account, seconded
by Justice of the Peace Francese.

RESOLUTION
Town Board, Town of Wappinger

WHEREAS, Helen Travis, the Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger, has been
seriously ill for a period of time, and
WHEREAS, it is expected that the said Helen Travis shall be unable
to perform the duties of Town Clerk for a period of time, and
WHEREAS, Agnes M. Grosenbeck is the duly appointed Deputy Town Clerk
of the Town of Wappinger, and
WHEREAS, the conduct of the business of the Town of Wappinger demands
that the said Agnes M. Grosenbeck have the same powers and be authorized
to perform the same duties as the Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger,
it is hereby,
RESOLVED, that the said Agnes M. Grosenbeck is hereby authorized,
pursuent to Section 30 (10) of the Town Law of the State of New York, to
perform such duties and shall have such powers as a regularly elected Town
Clerk in the town of Wappinger.
Seconded by: Vincent Francese
A Resolution was made by Councilman Louis Diehl that the Town Board
exempt the property in the Village of Wappingers Falls from the levy and
collection of taxes for items 3 and 4 of the Highway Budget, seconded by
Justice of the Peace Vincent Francese.
Motion Carried
A motion to adopt the budget was made by Justice of the Peace Bulger,
seconded by Justice of the Peace Francese. A vote was taken.

RESOLUTION

Town of Wappinger

Proposed By:
WHEREAS, Section 277 of the Highway Law of the State of New York allows
a town in which there is an incorporated village, which forms a separate
road district, to exempt all property within such village from the
levy and collection of taxes levied in the town for such items provided for
by subdivisions 3 and 4 of Section 141 of the Highway Law of the State of
New York, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Town Board that in order to
provide a just and equitable basis for the levy and collection of taxes in
the Town of Wappinger, all property situate within the Village of Wappingers
Falls should be exempt from the levy and collection of taxes levied in the
Town of Wappinger for such items provided for by subdivisions 3 and 4 of
Section 141 of the Highway Law of the State of New York, it is hereby
RESOLVED, that all property situate within the Village of
Wappingers Falls is exempt from the levy and collection of taxes levied in
the Town of Wappinger for items provided for by subdivisions 3 and 4 of Section
141 of the Highway Law of the State of New York.

A motion was made by Councilman Diehl that a Public Hearing for the budget
be set for 7:30 p.m. on November 1, 1965, at the Town Hall, seconded by
Councilman George Robinson.
Motion Carried
It was agreed to hold over the request for Schoonmaker Homes for at
least another week.
Justice of the Peace Francese moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded
by Councilman George Robinson.
