BUilDING SECURITY PROTOCOL
1. Prior to leaving for the day, the building custodian will check the Main Meeting
Room and Courtroom for clearance, turn off the lights, and lock said rooms,
2. Building Custodian will make a sweep of the upstairs air handler, boiler and
archive rooms. Custodian is responsible for locking that door after this sweep.
3. At 3:55. the entrance doors. except for the sliding doors. will be locked and lights
shut off by a designated employee. Designated employee will verify that the
doors previously locked by the custodian are still locked.
4. Designated employee will check all bathrooms for clearance.
5, Designated employee will check that the following rooms are locked: Town Board
Room, copy room, electrical room, private bathrooms, and custodian's closet.
6, The designated employee (s) is/are:
a. Inez Maldonado
b. Regina Dauzat
c. Barbara Gutzler
7. All departments are responsible for securing their own files and offices.
8. Recreation Department is responsible for locking the Senior Citizen's room.

9. Justice Court is responsible for its own security: inner courtroom doors, Judge's
chambers, bathroom, cash register,
10. Receiver of Taxes will be responsible for securing the server room door between
server room and Town Clerk's office.
11. Town Clerk will be responsible for securing the sliding doors, and for security of
office files.
12. Employees are to punch in at 8:30 a,m., and punch out at 4:00 p,m. No one
may stay after 4:00 p.m. unless:
a, Permission is granted by department supervisor, and
b. Permission is granted by Town Supervisor, and
c. Department supervisor stays to lock the building and set the alarm.
13. The only employees who have permission to stay after hours are:
a. Code Enforcement Department for the purpose of Board meetings or
Court, or as deemed necessary by Code Enforcement Officers;
b. Justice Court when Court is in session;
c. Town Clerk as the Clerk deems necessary;
d. Building Custodian, as authorized by Town Supervisor's Office and
Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds.
14. In case of emergencies after hours, the following persons are to be called in this
order (and will be notified by the alarm company):
a. Barbara Gutzler
b. Graham Foster
c. Mark Liebermann
15. The person called will go to Town Hall to evaluate the emergency. In case of an
alarm sounding and police notification by the alarm company, if the responding
town representative arrives before the police agency, the representative will
remain in his/her vehicle with the doors locked and vehicle running.
Representative will park near the stone monument at the northwest corner of the
parking lot. From this location he/she can observe both the front and side of the
building. The Town representative should not enter the building until
accompanied by the responding police agency. By no means should the town
representative confront anyone on the property, only observe and be prepared to
give a detailed description of any intruder.
