1963-09-27 PHA public hearing was held on Tuesday evening, September 27, 1963 at
8:00 P. M. in the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, N. Y.
on a proposed amendment to Town of Wappinger Zoning Ordinance so
as to rezone certain land now zoned R-15 & R-40 one family resid-
ential to R-20 one family residential such land lying easterly of
Spook Hill Road, southerly of Kent Boaddand:3mm9tly northerly of
Hopewell Junction Road.
Present: -Richard H. Linge, Supervisor; Malcolm Hait and George
Robinson -Councilmen; Vincent Francese and William Bulger -Justices
of the Peace; Judson Williams -Town Attorney, Joseph Ludewig-
Building & Zoning Inspector, Helen L. Travis, Town Clerk.
The meeting was opened at 8 P. M. by Supervisor -Richard H.
Linge.
Town Clerk-Heleb L. Travis read tlie published Notice of the
Hearing.
Supervisor Linge then opened the Hearing for discussion.
The following people were heard: -
Leo Coughlin --Spoke asking why this should be changed from R-15
and R-20, and if it would be to our advantage to do so, especially
in the matter of school taxes. He then asked who had the final
say in the matter.
Grover Roth --Spoke about the densi5y of the District and about the
sewerage problem and wondered why there should be a change.
Louis Eck -Spoke saying that if water & sewerage was put in it
could antomatically changed.
Henry Kelsof --Asked if anything had been done about the sewerage
system.
JUDSON Williams -- Explained the sewerage and water situationwas
taken care of by Board of Health.
Wayne Brodd -- Asked about sewerage system
John Furness -- What reason did Mr. Eck give for wanting the change
Louis Eck --Explained his reason for wanting the change. He plans
to build about 200 homes. If he does this he can then install a
sewerage & water system.
Frank Patterson --Wished to go on record as opposing the change
Grover Roth -- Supervisor Linge asked for a vote on the proposition.
12 were lux opposed and None were for.
A motion was made by Cduncilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman
Hait that the meeting adjourn.
