Hall on Thursday Evening May 10th.1956
Present Supervisor Edward R.S ofield,Justices Joseph F.Kelly and Edward B.Beatty
Councilman Emory J.Hager and ffarold J.Mewkill,Supt of Highway Virgil Knight and
Town Clerk Edith H.Booth.
Meeting called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 700 P.M.o'clock.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved as read.

Motion made by Justice Beatty seconded by Councilmam Mewkill that bills
be paid. Motion carried
Upon =recommendation of Town Superintendent of Highways a motion was made by
Councilman Hager seconded by Councilman Mewkill that the DeGa.rmo Hill Road
from the YVers Corner Road to Route 376 be accepted as a public highway of
the Town of Wappinger. Motion Carried
Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Justice Kelly that the Town
purchase a type writer and'stand from Mrs.Alice Dederer at a cost of
twenty five dollars($25.00) Motion carried
Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Judge Kelly that meeting adjourn.
Carried
Motion made by Justice Kelly seconded by Councilman Mewkill authorizing
the reconveyance of Crest.Drive to Crest Haven Homes Inc..
The resolution is filed and is a matter of record in the proceedings
of the'Town Board on the above date.

A regular meeting of the Board of Health of the Town of Wappinger was held
in the Town Hall on May 10,1956

lbwk'ill.Health Officer Dr.William E.Garlick and Town Clerk Edith H.Booth.
Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 8s00 P.T,,T.
Health Officer reported ten cases of mumps ,two of Chicken Pbx otherwise
health of Town in good condition.

WHEREAS, CREST HAVEN HOMES, INC., by deed dated
July 14, 1955, and recorded in the office of the Clerk of the
County of Dutchess, November 3, 1955 in Liber 903 of deeds at
page 419, did convey to the Tdwn of Wappinger, certain premises
for public street purposes together with certain easements for
drainage purposes; and
WHEREAS, the said streets so deeded by Crest Haven
Homes, Inc., are set forth, shown and described on a certain
map of premises owned by Crest Haven Homes, Inc. located on the
westerly side of the Albany Post Read and being a portion of the
former Frederic A. Smith property and which said map is filed
in the office of the Clerk of the County of Dutchess as Map
No. 2619; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger, has not accepted certa3
of said streets, described on said map and in said deed and has
exercised no rights or control of such streets and it is the
intention of the Town of Wappinger not to accept certain of said
streets as hereinafter descrined; and
WHEREAS, Crest Haven Homes, Inc. has requested a re-
conveyance of those premises described on said map as Peter Drive,
together with such easements as has been granted by said deed
dated July 14, 1955; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger desires to reconvey
Peter Drive to said Crest Haven Homes, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a deed be executed
in the name of the Town of Wappinger to Crest Haven Homes, Inc.
of the following described parcel being Peter Drive as described
in said deed dated July 14, 1955 and as shown on said Map No.
2619, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that since the Town of Wappinge ,
paid no consideration for said conveyance of said land to be used
for public streets and since it is determined that the said lana

will never be used for public streets, that the said conveyance
in the name of the Town of Wappinger to Crest Haven Homes, Inc.
be without consideration, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the said deed in the
name of the Town of Wappinger be executed by the Supervisor of
the Town and attested by the Town Clerk under the seal of the
Town.
