A regular meeting of the Tom Board, Town of Wappinger was held in
the Town Hall on Thursday evening, August 6th, 1959
Present:—Supervisor, Edward R. Scofield, Justice's of the Peace—
Joaeph F. Kelly & Edward B. Beatty, Councilmen—Harold J. Mewkill
& Emory J. Hager, Superontendent of Highways—Virgil Knight,
Town Engineer—Charles 11anieri.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 7:30 P. M.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Mr. Malcolm Hait appeared before the Board and requested a pingo License
for the Hughsonville Firecompany, Hughsonville, N. Y. and presented an
application.
Resolved that the application of The Hugheenville Firecompany, Hughsonville
N. Y. for a 7gi.ngo license be granted, contingent upon approval by the
Dutchess County Sheriff of the members directly in charge of conducting
the game.
A motion was made by Justice Kelly and seconded by Councilman Mewkill
that this resolution be accepted. Motion carried.
Mr. Kenneth Thornton appeared before the Board and thanked Mr. Manieri
for taking care or matter from previous meeting. And asked that a
bad spot on the Hopewell Road be taken care of.
Mayor Joseph Mc Closkey appeared before the Board and gave a talk on
the Recreation Program of the Village and stated that unless the
Board would participate next year it would have to be limited to
Village Children only. He asked t6OBoard to make plans to enter
this on their budget for next year. Mr. Arthur Weinberg accompanied
Mr. Mc Closkey and also gave an outline of the work and spoke about
their plans for a swimming pool within the next two years.
Mr. Irving Buck and Mrs.Arnold J. Butler of Cameli Drive presented a
petition to the Board asking for Street Lights in Cameli Acres. This
petition was turned over to bar. Lyons who is to call for a Public
Hearing on Same.
Mr. John Mac Gregor, Chelsea Road, appeared before the Board asking about

repairs to road on Sky Top Drive. T&% Knight stated that their is some
question about whether the Board owns the Road or not and where the
boundary lines are. Mr. Manieri is to check tjmx about Sky Top
Drive.
Mr. Bisom asked tl$Board ig a sign could not be placed on the New Hack—
ensack Road Corner. Board stated their is a sign their but has fallen
down. This is a County Road. Mr. Manieri will endeavor to have sign
replaced. f-
Mx. Charles Card and his Attorney, Mrd. m Mulvey appeared before
that
the Board asking im his:road taml& be accepted by the Board and the
snow removal be taken care for the winter. He is willing to have
road completed and Blacktopped, but Mr. Manieri recommends that the
blacktopping be held off until next year because of the winter. The
Board agreed that i2 the Road met all specification with the exception
of the Blacktopping and that he appeared at the next meeting with a deed and
when
Performance Bond that the Blacktopping would be completed vtkk given
the go ahead by Mr. Mariee the Board would then consider drawing up
a resolution accepting the road. This motion was made by Justice
Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hager. Motion Carried.
Mr. Kenneth Thornton appeared before Board and asked if anyththng had been
done about the Planning Board. Supervisor Scofieli stated that the
Board is working upon same.
The Board of Sudors: Mrd►. Edward Husted, Chairman, Mr, Howard G.
Winne and Mrs. Stanley Ries appeared before the Board and asked if the
Board would consider having Building Permits issued whereby it would
show the Assessors where new homes were being built and when }people were
making additions to their property. This was referred to Mr. Lyons
to see what could be done on the matter.
The bills for the month of July were read. A Motion was made by Justice
Melly and seconded by Councilman Mewkill that the bills be paid. Motion
Carried.
A Motion was made by Councilman ]lager and seconded by Councilman Mewkill
that the meeting adjourn. Motion Carried.
