1961-04-1373 The regular monthly meeting.of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, April 13, 1961 Present:- Supervisor -Richard H. Lingo, Justicex of the Peace:- , Joseph F. Kelly, Councilmen..Malcolm I Hait and Emory J. Hager, Town Attorney -James J. Lyons, Town Engineer: -Charles Maneri, Town Clerk: -Helen L. Travis, Superintendent of Highway -Charles E. Mewkill, Sr. The meeting was opened by Richard H. Lingo, Supervisor at 8 P. M The minutes of the last meeting were read. A motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hager that the minutes be accepted as read. Motion carried The bills for the month of March were read. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Councilman Halt that this committee be accepted. Motion carried. A letter was received from the Chamber of Commerce telling where they would like signs placed but not what kind they thought would be good. The Town Clerk is to write Chamber of Commerce asking what type of sign they would suggest. Stanley Ries and Howard Winne Assessors asked if their salary could be changed to quarterley instead of semi-annually. A motion was made by Councilman Hait and Seconded by Judge Kelly that the salaries of these assessors be paid Quarterly. Motion carried. .3 Judge Kelly asked for permission to purchase if drawer locked file cabintht. A motion was made by Councilman Hait and sec- onded by Councilman Hager that Budge Kelly be empowered to purchase such file. Motion carried Bids on Gasoline were opened from Sinclair Refinting Company and Mid -Hudson Oil Company - Sinclair Refining Company did not meet specifications. A motion was made by Judge Kelly and Councilman Hait that the bid of the Mid Hudson Oil Company be accepted. Motion carried. Bids for Kotal Mix were opened, from Dutchess Quarry & Supply Co., Inc.-. ,A motion was made by Judge Kelly and b seconded by Councilman Hait that the bid for Kotal Mix from Dutchess Quarry & Supply Co., Inc. be accept$d. Motion Carried Base Conditioner from Spoor-Lasher Com Bids for Latex and pang, Inc. A motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Hager that this bid be accepted. Mbbion carried. Bids were opened from Leemace Sand ,& Stone Corp. and Spoor Lasher Company, Inc., for Gravel. A motion was made by Judge 'Celly and seconded by Councilman Halt that the bid of Leemac Sand & Stone Corp. be accepted. Motion carried. Mr. D. C. Scott appeared before the Board asking about New Hackensack Heights Road. The Board told Mr. he brought Mr. Me Ghee in they would try and the matter out. Mr. MMrrill Effron appeared for Osborn Hills, Inc. and Fleetwood, Inc. asking for acceptance of roads, Fleet- wood Drive and Barbara Lane. The following resolution was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Judge Kelly and carried. WHEREAS: Osborn Hills, Inc., have tendered to the Town of Wappinger by deed dated, March 31, 1961, certain roadways and appurtenant drainage easements,• known as Fleetwood Drive and Barbara Lane, the same being in the said Township and WHEREAS: ications f ormanc e Scott if s traigiibn These roadways being unfinished to the Town Specif- the Osborn Hills, Inc., have posted a $5,000.00 per - Bond guaranteeing completion of said roadways by March 13, 1962 in accordance with the Town Specifications. Deed and Bond to be approved by Town Attorney. It being understood and agreed that the Company be responsible for maintenance of road and snow removal therefrom until com- pletion of said roads. Mr. Effron then presented Bond for $45,000.00 for completion of Sewage Treatment Plant. The following Resolution was made by Councilman Hait and sec- onded by Councilman Hager and carried. �trrc 11 s s C::ttNr y RESOLVED: That as recommended by the Board of Health, the Town of Wappinger accepts from Osborn Hills, Inc., a performance Bond in the amount of $45,000.00, conditional upon completion of a sewage Treatment plant in Fleetwood T✓�-rcµess C-0, ✓ry Manor, Town of Wappinger, approved by St,Patz Board of Health on or before April 3, 1962. Mr. Simonetty and Attorneys appeared before Board asking them to accept Roads. Bondy and Deed was not in order so this was laid over until a future date. Mr. Kenneth Thornton appeared before Board asking what had been done about the preparation of the forms for Salvage Ordinance. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Council- man Hait that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
