1962-05-09The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger wqs held in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, May 9, 1962 Present: -Councilmen -Malcolm Hait, Justice of Peace -Joseph F. Kelly, and Edward B. Beatty, --Councilman -George S. Robinson, Town Attorney -Judson Williams, Town Engineer -Charles Maneri, Super- intendent of Highways -Charles E. Mewkill, Building Inspector - Kenneth Thornton and Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. A motion was made by Mustice of Peace Joseph F. Kelly and seconded by Councilman OsOrgenST. Rtbinson that Councilman Malcolm I Hait act as Deputy Supervisor and be in charge of the meeting in the absence of the Supervisor. Minutes of the last meeting were read. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Kelly and seconded by Councilman Robinson that they be accepted as read. Motion carried The bills for the month of April were read. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Beatty and seconded by Justice of Peace Kelly that the bills be paid. A motion was made by Justice of Peace Keller and sedonded by Councilman Robinson that the letter be placed on the table for further study. Motion carried Town Engineer xximittat Charles Maneri, bubmitted new Minnimum Standard Requirements for Establishing New Town Roads. The following resolution was made by Justice of Peace Beatty and seconded by Justice of Peace Kelly; and carried RESOLVED: that effective July 1, 1962, roads offered for dedication to the Town shall meet the new minimum standards recommended by the Town Engineer and the Town Superintendent of Highways and presented to thismeeting, except that roads on sub -division maps approved by the Town Planning Board prior to July 1, 1962 will be accepted as Town Roads up to July 1, 1963, if such roads meet the minimum stan- dards now in effect. A deed was received from I. C. B. M. Homes, deeding a pice of land Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Justice of Peace Beatty, that Ralph Attonen be appointed Constable, Motion carri439 to Town. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Kelly and seconded by Justice of Peace Beatty that this be referred to the planning Board for their consideration. Motion carried. B.ilding Inspector , Kenneth Thornton hat practically 36 applications for building permits had been received this month. Mr. Roth and Mr. Heaney appeared before Board about 50 miles per hour qpeed limit in Orchard Homes. The Board stated that application for reduction of speed must be made to the State for a new sPeed zone. Mr. Mewkill stated he would place a slow sign at this point. Mr. Brannan asked what placing the letter on the table for further reference meant. Attorney Williams answered Mr. Brannan stating the Board could take the matter up whenever they desired or that it could be tabled indefinitely. Mr. Brocker appeared before the Board asking if the name Park Lane could not be changed back to its original name Apook Hill Road. Mr. Brocker was told that he would have to get a petition from 50% of the residence of that road to have the name changed. Mr. Ryan appeared before the Board and asked about zoning. Mr. Knud Clausen appeared before Beard asking about Salvage Yard Ordinance. Mr. Ryan asked about zoning ordinance and i F established locations can stay, and that the Board take under consideration changes in the Salvage Yard ordinance. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Kelly and seconded by Justice of Peace Beatty that the meeting adjourn.
