The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was h0eld in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, August 9, 1962 Present: -Supervisor -Richard H. Linge, Councilmen -Malcolm Hait and George Robinson, Justices of the Peace -Joseph F. Kelly and Edward B. Beatty, Town Attorney -Judson C. Williams, Town Engineer -Charles Maner;, Superintendent of Highways -Charles E. Mewkill, Sr., -Build- ing Inspector-Kennath Thornton, Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. was The meeting/opened at 8 P. M. by Supervisor, Richard H. Linge. The minutes of the last meeting were read, there being no corrections the minutes were approved as read. The bills for the month of July were read. Motion was made by Justice of feace Kelly and seconded by Justice of Peace Beatty that the bills be paid. Motion carried. Mr. Mewkill said same had been ordered. He also asked if a letter could be written to the Telpphone Company about change of name. Town Clerk said same would be done. A letter was received from the Wappingers Falls Chamber of Commerce suggesting that the Town consider the construction of a new Town Hall which could be used for meetings and also with the possibility of its use for other civic groups. This matter was referred to the Building committee which consists of Mr. Malcolm Hait and George Robinson. Town Clerk reported that minutes for two months had been received from the Planning Board and the Recreation Board. Board requested that a copy of same be sent to each member of the Board. A letter was received in reference to the New York State Employees Retirment System. The Town Clerk to send a copy of this letter to each Board member. A letter was received from Mrs. Theresa Dudnik asking that they plow her road this winter. The Board requested Mr. Mewkill to inform the party that this is not a Town Road and that there is no way that they can plow a private road. Building Inspector -Kenneth Thornton reported 20 Buuilding permits had been issued in July equal to j 286,000. --Fees $5090.00 gat 185 Councilman Robinson reported ramp had been finished at Chelsea, and that a sign should be placed on same stating it is open to the public. The Board requested Councilman Robinson to look into the placing of this sign. Mr. Fred. Kapfenstein came before the Board in reference to Sub - Division, stating he had not been told about same. This was referred to the Planning Board to take care of same. Mr. Grover Roth asked the Board about the Dog situation in the Town of Wappinger asking is they would not consider an ordin- ance requesting dogs be tied unless—un a 161msh. Supervisor Linge referred this to the Town Attorney for an answer at a latttr meeting. Mr. Fred Lafko, came before the Board asking for a letter from the Board stating the amount of Bond needed for Meadow Heights. Mr. Maneri & Mrd'. Mewkill agreed upon the amount of $14,000.00. Town 6lerk instructed to write letter to Marshall & Sterling giving this amount. Mr. Murrill Effron appeared before the Board for I. C. B. M., Inc. asking for acceptance of two road, adjacent to those at Lake Oniad. The Board said they would consider acceptance after the final approval of the Planning Board was given and upon the presentation of the Bond. Mr. Puzio then asked about roads which had been given to the Town as tentative roads. He was instructed to take this up with the Planning Board. Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman Hait that the meeting adjourn.
