Special Meeting Minutes November 14, 2007
III. New Business
1. Councilman Bettina New Business
Councilman Bettina asked what the Tax Rate for the Town of Wappinger is. Supervisor
Ruggiero answered that there is a 70% reduction in the tax rate from last year. It will be $1.01
per $1000 of assessed value.
2. Councilman Beale New Business
Councilman Beale asked if the Supervisor would give him a copy of the PowerPoint
presentation from the November 81h Meeting. Supervisor Ruggiero replied that he would give
.. the Councilman a copy.
3. Statement from the Floor
A resident asked a question from the floor regarding the Tall Trees water problem. She
asked if there was a plan to address this issue. Supervisor Ruggiero mentioned that the
Obercreek project has a condition to provide water for Tall Trees. The resident feels that the rate
she pays is high compared to other districts. Supervisor Ruggiero explained that the rate seems
high because there are only 78 units in that area. Discussion followed.
4. Councilman Paoloni New Business
Councilman Paoloni mentioned that there was a comment at the previous night's Town
Board Meeting that there was an error in the sewer rates. His question is what the effect of that
would be. Supervisor Ruggiero answered that the Phase 3A District is the only one to be
affected. The result is an increase of $55.00. Councilman Paoloni asked if the Board could be
given a list of what the rate is compared to what it would have been. Supervisor Ruggiero
replied that he would provide that for the Board.
