According to the Immutable Law of change
,dained by the 6uprewe Ruler of the Universal) the Town
hoard, Town of Wappinger Is called upon to mourn the loss
Df one of it's valued members. it is with deep sorrow
that we record the death of our friend and brother,
Norge A Baxter, Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger.
He has served with untiring devotion and
through his wise counsel and fine qualities of heart he
aas won our high esteem and deepest affections. We shall
niss him not only In our personal associations) but also
14 the work in which he so efficiently co-operated.
To the bereaved family we express our heart
felt sympathy In the great loss they have substained.
It was resolved by the Town Board that a copy of these
resolutions be tendered to the bereaved family and spread
upon the Town records.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N. Y.
WHEREAS, The Town of Wappinger is a second class Town
as defined in Section 10 of the Town Law and
WHEREAS, There exists in and for the Town of Wappinger
the office of Town Clerk and Tax Collector and
WHEREAS, the Town Law, Section 36 provides that any
Town of the second class in which the office of Tax
Collector exists, the Town Board there of may by re-
solution duly adopted determine that said office be
abolished, same to take effect at the expiration of the
term of office in which the incumbent was elected or
appointed and that in all towns where the office of
Tax Collector has been abolished it shall be the duty
of said Town Clerk to collect and receive all State,
County and Town taxes and assessments that be levied
in said Town and that the Town Clerk shall have the
powers to be subject to all the duties of a collector
with respect to collections and said taxes and
WHEREAS, the Tax collecting necessities of the Town of
Wappinger do not require or warrant the existence of
a separate office and officer for that purpose, and
WHEREAS, the abolishing of said office will work economies
in the administration of the government of the Town of
Wappinger, be it
RESOLVED, That the said office of Tax Collec'
