Dear Sir:
October 27, 1942
We are in receipt of your letter of October 21 asking for
a quotation on six air raid alarms for use in rural districts.
We wish to advise that we can furnish an electho-phonic air
signal, as shown on enclosed cut, for the price of $175.00 each, net
F.O.B. our Works, Newton Upper Falls, Mass. This, you will note,
.-.is a..self-contained compressor with a horn attached, and the
second the current is turned on, the horn starts to blow and
..,,%ill„blow as long as the AC current is on. This horn is known
as an electro -phonic air signal EP2-S2F, for operation on
110 volt, 60 cycle, single-phase current.
To obtain one or -more of these horns, we would have to re-
ceive with the order a high priority rating.
I drive through Wappingers Falls quite often and on my
next trip up that way will be pleased to call on you to explain
all about this horn.
Thanking you for your valued inquiry, I remain

ACOMPLETE, new, modernized line of A.C. signaling and calling devices for resi-
dence, apartment or any place old-fashioned bells, buzzers, transformers and
pushes were heretofore used.
A standardized, flexible, coordinated line of efficient devices — each one fits $stand-
ard gang boxes and takes standard switch or receptacle plates. Can be $ganged
together with 115 Volt receptacles, etc., in $standard box and finished with standard
plate. (See the new Flushcall Plan on opposite page.)
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:—Absolutely no adjustment is ever necessary
before, during or after installation — except for tone volume of the Buzacall if the
normal tone is not satisfactory, (see description below). Large, accessible binding
posts. Frame and louvre front combine to completely surround and protect gong
and mechanism from wires in box. Inclined construction of frame and shallow design
leave ample room for lock nuts and wires. Elliptical hole permits a plumb adjust-
ment. Mechanism completely insulated from frame. Rust -resisting metals or finish
throughout. All devices operate on 60 Cycles. For 25 Cycles, prices on application.

THE NEW FLUSHCALL LINE
A Time Saving, Labor Saving. Plan for Installing Flushcall Devices
Compare fine appearance of 1Flusheall
installation with old-faehioned door-
bells, etc.
in Residences and Apartments.
THIS modern, *approved method of in.
stallation centralizes the complete call
system in one standard gang box. In every
kitchen it has now become customary to
install a 115 Volt receptacle on the sidewall
at a height convenient for the housewife. In
the Flushcall Plan, this outlet, instead of
being single gang, is 3 or more gang according
to the number of calls desired. In it is com,
bined the 115 Volt receptacle with all de-
vices — the Tucall and Meloeall for front
door, back door and dining room signals —
(three radically different signals that leave
no doubt as to the origin of each call) and the
-No. 667 Powacall for operation of the entire
call system.
If there is an Annunciette, it is installed im-
mediately above the outlet —the No. 667
Powacall will operate that device. The time
saving efficiency, and the appearance ad-
vantages are immediately obvious. From all
standpoints of better installation, easier
inspection and less fire hazard, the Flushcall
'By the Underwriters' Laboratories.
The Taeall
This device represents the advanced step between
the old-fashioned combination surface type bell and
buzzer and new modern styled electric door chimes.
The TUCALL replaces the old-fashioned combina-
tion bell and buzzer with both calls far su erior in
tone and carrying power. One signal (bell used
generally for a front entrance and the other signal
(buzzer) for the rear entrance. A front door and
dumbwaiter combination is also used. Both signals
are combined in a single unit occupying only one
gang in any standard gang switch box.
This double purpose signal is ideally suited for
apartments or locations where limited space is a
consideration.

A
For "walk-up" apartments a
telephone systems, the best a
stallation is a 2 gang box with the Tuca for front
door and rear door or dumbwaiter signals, and the
Togelpusb for front door opener operation, using a
standard 2 gang toggle plate. For narrow spaces, sev-
eral different combinations of this type as listed be-
low can be furnished to fit a single gang box. A spe.
cial brushed brass plate is included. For Chrome
finished plate add $0.40 to list and specify.
SCHEDULE E, Standard Package 10, t Weight 7!4 lbs.

eral Use) ..................... List Price $1.38
* Carried in Stock. $ Reg. U. S. Patent Office.
A typical tFlusheall combination —in-
stead of transformer in cellar, belle
high on wall, receptacle low on wall.
Plan is far superior to all other methods.
(For soft toned melodious signals, see Styled
Door Chimes — Bulletin 103.)
In apartments, the Flushcall Plan is even
more desirable than in residences since it
eliminates long wire runs which necessitate
the use of high wattage transformers, not
approved by the Underwriters' Laboratories
for signaling purposes. It places the Powacall 14
on the suite meter. If the call system of any
suite becomes inoperative, it does not affect
the other systems in the building.
No. 662 T'ucall
Compact Bell
The Powacall and Bna a e r
Combination
Replaces old-fashioned "bellringer". Cannot be
mounted in single or 2 gang box nor in end gang.
Place 115 Volt receptacle in first gang, then Powacall
and then as many signals as are required. Powacall
provides its own barrier. Convenient binding posts
for easy installation. For installations where more
than one signal will operate at one time and to
operate Annunciettes, use the No. 667 Powaeall. For
complete description and technical information, see

Registered U. S. Pat. 08. Patents Pending
Vibrating or Single Stroke Types for All A.C. and D.C. Voltages.
Vibrating or Single Stroke Types,
both have this same fine appearance.
Hanging Adaptabels on two strong
lug. is a simple, non -electrical job.
Approved by the Underwriters Laboratories.
ANEAT, compact bell of the so-called "Underdome," "Turtle," or "Monitor" type, but
with none of the disadvantages common to that type, and with many important
advantages over all older designs.
INSTALLATION ADVANTAGES, Sizes 6 inches and Larger
Like the modern switch, this bell fits a variety of standard conduit boxes and similar fittings,
concealed or surface. For non -conduit work its mounting is just as simple. It is the one
bell, consequently, that can be stocked for all conditions of installation.
The gong does not have to be removed for installation — there is no screwing and unscrewing
of small cover screws - no juggling or one -handed gymnastics — no back connections.
The simple steps below illustrate the actual time saved in mounting the Adaptabel. The
total time saved is appreciable in school work, fire alarm systems, and installations where a
number of bells are installed.
Long waits for special conduit fittings, drilled to order, are avoided. Standard boxes, Con-
dulet, and Wiremold type fittings are obtainable locally.
Because the electrical connections are made to the mounting plate only, the whole electrical
installation can he made, tested and completed before painting and finishing. When the job
is completed, the simple non -electrical banging of the Adaptabel can be done by an inex-
perienced helper with no fear of trouble.
In hard service work, like traffic signals, railroads, etc., the maintenance problem is greatly
simplified with a few spare Adaptabels. Instead of repairing on the job or the complete
electrical installation of a new bell, anyone can easily detach the Adaptabel and attach a
new one. A simple non -electrical job.
MECHANICAL SUPERIORITIEA
The movement is completely enclosed in a cast metal housing. The Adaptabel is well pro.
tected against dirt, bugs, etc. When specified "weatherproof' it is protected with gaskets.
Novel adjusting device automaticallyprevents stalling or chattering on the neutral point of
the A.C. Cycle. This is a common fault with A.C. bells of other designs.
The A.C. vibrating mechanism is the polarized, no -contact type. An improved design
of that so widely known in the No. 551 Bell. Two large, correctly proportioned magnets
amplified with a permanent magnet operate the case-hardened plunger in 'a straight line,
through an Everdur Bronze Bushing. There are no coil springs or pivots. No adjustment
ever necessary. Gongs are hot pressed steel, Parkerized to prevent rust.
The D.C. vibrating mechanism is also of the straight line plunger type. An improved
design widely known in the Recti Bell. Powerful magnets, Phosphor Bronze springs
of special type and precision -made parts combine to make it the finest of all D.C. movements.
The contacts are large and of cure hard drawn Silver. Adjustment (if needed) is made from
outside case without dismantling bell. Gongs are hot pressed steel, Parkerized to prevent
rust.
Single Stroke Types are of solenoid design. Simple and powerful. All parts are thoroughly
rustproofed. Gongs are hot pressed steel. Parkerized to prevent rust.
For complete technical information see pages 21 to 24
