REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
TOWN OF WAppINGER TOWN BOARD
The Town of Wappinger Town Board and Highway Department is seeking proposals from
qualified planners/engineers/attorneys to assist the Town Board with carrying out its duties. The
services to support the Town Board are meant to assist in its consideration of infrastructure
improvements, zoning matters and any other related issues. The services to support the Highway
Department are meant to assist and consult in the review and plan of operations to successfully
complete responsibilities and compliances. The range of services needed may include, but not
necessarily be limited to, the following:
Scope of Services
The successful consultant, at a minimum, will perform the following work:
• Performance of services to the Town Board including studying and reporting on proposed
development matters (e.g. subdivisions, site plans, and other normal planning matters).
• Site visits as necessary.
• Attendance at two evening Town Board meetings per month.
Proposal Requirements
The successful respondent should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the nature of the
requirements and show significant past and current experience working with Town Boards. Each
proposal shall lay out a clear and realistic work program with provisions for delivering all products
expeditiously. The work program shall show the consultant's ability to provide the necessary
products in a timely fashion and meet project deadlines.
The proposal should describe the firm's ability to perform the required services. Names, titles,
qualifications, and relative contribution of all the individuals who will be providing services
should be given for evaluation. The proposal should indicate how their combined
qualifications/assignments enable them to competently complete the work. A primary individual
from the company should be named in the proposal.
The proposal should contain references from Town Boards for which the respondent has provided
similar services. Provide the following information for each reference: name of Town Board,
mailing address, email address and telephone number.

The proposal should include a list of hourly rates for each professional staff member. Hourl rates
for professional staff time shall be inclusive of all secretarial, clerical and administrative services
local telephone, postage and other custom
ary overhead expenses. '
Submit this cost portion of the proposal in a separate letter in your submittal package so that
the Town Board may first focus on the quality of services and not on cost.
Rating and Selection Criteria
The Town Board will meet with selected consultants. The consultants chosen for interviews
should be prepared to provide a brief description of the approach they will use, references and
relevant examples of its work.
The contract will be awarded to the responsible consultant whose proposal is determined to be the
most qualified to work with the Town Board based upon the respondent's work for other Town
Boards, and whose proposal is within a competitive cost range. Past experience and professional
expertise will be the primary criteria used to evaluate the proposals and to select the preferred
consultant.
The Town of Wappinger Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals in the best
interest of the Town.
