MINUTES OF DECEMBER 6, 1973 MEETING

The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission was held
at the Town Hall an December 6, 1973 at 8:00 P.M.
Attending: Messrs. Hugh J. Maurer, George Schlat~aus, Joseph Ennasser,
Richard Garren, Director of Recreation - Mr. W. Thomas Rogers.
Absent: Mrs. Alfred Arkell and Mrs. Raymond Beahan.
Mr. James V. Porter.
A short discussion fallowed on Recreation Budget.
Secretary to submit a copy of our latest budget to
Mr. Maurer directed the
Mr. Egan tomorrow.
SURVEY
A short disGussion followed an the Survey on the Summer Program prepared by
Director of Recreation, W. Thomas Rogers. Mr. Maurer asked Commissioners
8pproval of Survey. All in favor and motion was carried.
~r. Ennesser suggested that we have survey filled out on a door to door basis,
also, that we try and get organizations to help us.
Hr. Maurer dictated a letter to be sent to civic organizations requesting that
a representative attend one of their meetings to explain survey.
EVALUATION DATA SHEET
A discussion followed on procedure to follow in using the Summer Employee
Evaluation Data Sheet prepared by W. Thomas Rogers, Director of Recreation.
r~r. Rogers would do the evaluation but it also can be checked against
Commissioners evaluation sheet.

r~r. Garren brought up the subject of relocating the Hughsonville Swings and
Slides. Mr. Joseph Incaronato will move them for the sum of $300. Motion to
approve cost was carried by Commissioners.

l'lr. Rogers stated he fil2de a COlitact in reference to bring roller skating into
one of the schools but due to present energy cris&s the company is not making
any new commitments as they are having trouble now meeting present obligations,
but whenever it breaks they will try and do something for us.

Director of Recreation, W. Thomas Rogers gave report on Ski Program. As
of this date we have not been able to get anything set with Fahnstock. They
are closed and can not be contacted for information. We will continue to try
to get c program started here. We do have a program set up at the Dutchess
Ski Araa in Beacon. Any residents having an activity card fIDr this program
may ski at the area at a reduced rate. Cards will be available at the Town
Hall fer all residents who wish to ski at the special rates.
WAPPI~SERS PARK HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION
~lr. Maurer read a letter from Mrs. Rose Wells, Chairman of the Wappingers Park
Home Owners Association which was discussed and will be forwarded to the Town
Attorney r'~r. Rappelyea asking if he has had any communications with Mr. Rankin.
