TOWN OF WAPPINGER
RECREATION COMMISSION M~TES
MARCH 7, 1979
The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission was
held on March 7, 1979 at Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls,
New York.
Mr. Maurer opened the m~eting at 7:40 P.M.
Present: Hugh J. Maurer, Chairman, Ron Petro, Frank Presti,
Joseph Ennesser, Director
The only business transacted was consideration of the Baseball
Equipment Bid which had been opened on the 15th of February, 1979.
Two bids were received--Letterii Sporting Goods, $2,960.60 and
Schuman Army and Navy Store, $3,680.00. Those present agreed to
recommend to the Town Board that the low bid be awarded to Letterii
in the amount of $2,960.60.
Mr. Maurer discussed ordering equipment for Castle Point since the
Federal government would be inspecting the site in the Spring and
at the time this area was deeded to the Town, it was agreed to
provide additional equipment each year. There had been benches
and tables at one time, but they had disappeared. A request was
to be sent to the Town Board for permission to expend the sum of
$5,000 for picnic tables, benches and a backstop. This expenditure
would be taken from the Parkland Deposits Trust Fund ~hich was a
separate Recreation account.
Since there were only three members present, no other business was
discussed.
The meeting closed at 8:45 P.M.
