Falls, County of Dutch~s., New York. The meeting wa. called to order at 7140 by Chairman Hugh J. Maurer, with the following -persons present I Joseph Mastroianni, Ronald Petro, Mary Schmalz and Bill Wood. Also attending the meeting was Town Board member Frank Versace. On a lIIotion by Mr. Wood.i. seconded by Mr. Mastroianni, the minutes of.the April 21,1983 meeting were approved. All were in favor. Mr. Petro introduced Jane ~~ who is the new tennis director. YOUTH BOARD At our last meeting Mrs. Schmalz handed out a report of salaries paid for 1982 which had been turned in to the Youth Board. The figures are as followSI Directors Aid~. ..... They are to play at Wappinger Junior High but might transfer the play to Ketchallt when the fields are re-seedad. Town Board members Bernice Mills and Nicholas Johnson arrived at the me.ting. TOWN POOL .. Mrs. Gail Bock, Mrs Ellen Karz, Mrs. Janice Scholz, Mrs. Linda Rice, Mrs. Ann Schulz, Mrs. Linda Pampalane, Mrs. Judy Bowe, Mrs. H. iNJIwlands residents from Wildwood Development and Quiet Acres attended the meeting to di~cuss the possibility of building a Town P~ol and beach area. YE OLD APPLE ORCHARD Town Board Member Nicholas Johnson referred to a petition asking what the Town was going to do about the lake in the above development. Mr. Maurer mentioned that the Town was already mowing the property around it. Mr. Johnson. showed a letter' he had received from Rudolph lapar suggesting the use of copper sulfate to remove the algae. After a discu..ion it was decided to obtain the copper sulfate and apply it to the pond. It was also decided that the Recreation Commission should meet with those people whose land borders the lake to discuss the maintenance and long-term solution. If it becomes a Town Area it will be open to all residents of the Town. HANDICAPPED FACIlITIE~ Hr. Maurer mentioned that the equipment has been ordere~ for the handicapped facilities a~ Robinson. The equipment will be installed where the cloeltt is now located. BENCHES Hr. Wood mentioned that there were. the purchase of the new benches and bleachers. Mr. Petro use the benches from Schlathaus Park until some other arrange.ents could be made to some problems regarding It was suggested that for the Tennis Courts get the new ones. SOFTBAll lEAGUE Hr. Wood said that there were some problems with' the Sunday Morning Softball league at Robinson. People were driving cars on the field and leaving beer bottles. BROCHURE Mr. Mastroianni handed aut two farms of a brochure which lists Town of Wappinger Recreation Activities, whsn they are available, and where. After a discussion, it was decided which farm to use. Mr. Mastroianni will look into casts o~ havi~g theM printed. JOBS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS Mr. Mastroianni mentioned that Dutchess County's Comllunity Development Council has approved a formula far distributing 1391,000. in Federal Jabs Development money next year. He said that an application has been filed..for the abave. TENNI~ Mr. Petra mentioned that the Tennis Program is set and that he has hired 3 attendants. He also passed aut a list of Tennis Court Rules that the members went over. t.,., ;.~;,. SUBDIVISION MAP~ After reviewing the subdivision map of Pine Ridge Drive, the Cammissianrecamllended to take money in lieu of land. After reviewing the Braokvale Subdivision, the Commission voted to ask far lots 83 to 91 far recreation land. The meeting was adjourned at 11115 on a mation by Mr. Petro seconded by Mr. Wood.
