A letter has been received from Robert Gift, Chief of
Department of Interior regarding our annual report on the
progress at Castle Point Recreation Area. Mr. Holt mentioned
that nothing much has been accomplished except the removal of
the metal and that we mow and clean up the area. He read a
draft of a letter which will be given to Supervisor Paino and
Councilman Reis for approval prior to sending. Mr. Wood
suggested that we extend the date of work to be completed to
"\;,J:i.thin tr'le nE.:-:t year" instead clf by the "€~'nd o'f 1988"
Mr.. Reimer and Mr. Wood will mark off fields and we will

Mr. Reimer mentionF.!d that the playgrounds went well with
the normal minor problems. Each playground was doing a lot
more this year. The biggest problem was the break in at
Spook Hill. The garage door was damaged and will have to be
replaced along with shingles torn off the roof. Playground
supplies were thrown around in the building and a few taken.

It was suggested that a letter to the Editor be written
mentioning that we need every residents' help in keeping
these areas as a pleasant place for recreation activities
and to watch for vandalism.
Mr. Reimer mentioned that Summer Playground Director Amy
Slacin has a schedule of activities made up for the End of
Summer picnic and that we have recruited plenty of volunteers
to help out. The dunking tank has been rented. The
Directors are making out certificates of appreciation for the
children. Mr. Reimer is seeing about getting a gift of
appreciatin for each of the Summer Playground Employees.

Mr. Wood met with John Lawrence and Engineer of the Town
Joseph Paggi at the above subdivision to discuss the area for
Recreation pouposes. They found out that the land in the
back of the subdivision was in the 10 year flood plain and
the land adjacent to it was too rocky. It was suggested we
get land for at least 2 soccer fields or baseball fields. It
was decided that a letter be written to the Planning Board
stating that we are asking for land. Ray Arnold the Part
Time Town Planner also suggested we take land at this site
and also at the Nicole Subdivision

Mr. Holt mentioned that he received no cooperation from
John Dore of the Sunday Morning Softball League the weekend
of the Dutchess Debs Tournament and Little League Playoffs.
Because of the rain 2 fields were under water and when Mr.
Dore was asked if he would move to Rockingham he wouldn't.
The water line at SL 2 has been redone with copper pipe.
We are hoping to do Rl. We are trying to do a section at a
time.

complaints.
