CORRESPONDENCE
A letter was received from Cathy Versace requesting permission to
use the Robinson Lane Fields for a Softball Tournament to be hosted by the U. S.
Association for Blind Athletes the end of July or first of August. It was
decided to give permission for the use of the fields either the 1st or 2nd weekend
in August but there was a concern about liability insurance. It was suggested
that we get more information regarding this. It was noted that maybe the Association
might have applicable insurance. It was decided that a letter would be sent to
Miss Versace giving permission for the fields and rest rooms and also state the
rules of the Park. It was also requested that she contact us to discuss the
insurance.
A letter was received from the Hughsonville Fire District approving
our request to use their facilities for our Summer Program running from June 26th
to August 18th.
A letter was received from the Chelsea Fire District granting permission
to use the School grounds for our 1989 Summer Program. They also stated that the
phone and water facilities will be available as was last year. It was also noted
that one basketball backboard is in need of repair. Mr. Vorndran and Mr. Reimer
will check this out. The Secretary will be asked to see that a Certificate of
Insurance is sent prior to the start of the program.
A letter was received from the participants of the Winter Aerobic
program held at Myers Corners and instructed by Gina Poulious. They were very
satisfied with the program and would like to see it continue twice a week next
season.

Thomas Dolan of the Dutchess Debs called and thanked us for
permission to use the fields at Robinson Lane for their tournament. He also
requested permission to run a concession stand the same as last year. They would
not use our building but will set up their own stand.
QUIET ACRES
The Park is in terrible shape after all the rain. It is a shame
after all the time spent in fixing the field. We will have to do all the work
over again. We still have to get some telephone poles or railroad ties to make
a parking area at the bottom of the hill. The electric and water have been run
into the building. A new gate is being made by the Highway Department. We still
need to put storage shelves in the building for supplies for the Summer Program.
CHELSEA BOAT RAMP
It was noted that the Sheriff's Department has been called to provide
a patrol for Memorial Day Weekend. Mr. Wood also mentioned that we need a load
of big stone for the ramp before the holiday because there is such a drop off.
Mr. Reime~ the Directo~was unable to attend but sent in a list of the
Summer Personnel, a list of the concert dates and a calendar of events for the
months of June through August. He also spoke with Mr. Holt about a "Summer
Counselor School to be held in Middletown, N.Y. on Tuesday, June 27th from 8:30
to 4:00. Everyone thought is was a good idea to send the counselors but were
concerned about opening the playgrounds for one day and then closing them so the
counselors could attend this school. After a discussion, it was decided to start
the playgrounds on Wednesday. Mr. Reimer has already tentatively scheduled a bus
for transporting the personnel to Middletown in case this was approved.
Donald Rider and Bill Farrell have sent in resumes for appointment to
the Recreation Commission.

SCHLATHAUS PARK
A request has been put in to the Town Board and approved to spend
monies from the Schlathaus Fund to fix the flag pole light and to put additional
service to the Christmas tree. Chris Bar has been contracted to do the work.
The Town Board has been notified that before we can do anything at
the house the septic and water problems must be addressed. We have an estimate
for the well but are still waiting for information on the septic. As soon as the
estimates are in we will be going to the Town Board for funds to do this work.
ROCKINGHAM
The fencing has been purchased but hasn't been installed yet.
BARN
People have been dumping by the barn property. We now have 10 times
the amount of debris that was there previously. It was suggested that if there is
enough money in the budget, we should put a fence up which runs down to the creek.
We should also put up "No Dumping" signs.
A request was received from Lakeland High School to use Robinson
Lane for a baseball camp. It was voted that this request be rejected as we cannot
give out our facilities for personal profit.
Mr. Drennan was told that the Castle Point Field was in good shape
to be used for the softball league. He will not be using the field on Fridays.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. on a motion by Mr. Wood
seconded by Mr. Maurer.
