CORRESPONDENCE
A letter was received from June Ellen Notaro welcoming Mr. Rottkamp and
thanking him for reviewing the swim program with her. Our program rated an "in compliance."
A letter was received from John and Geraldine Winiarski asking for a refund for
her son Alexander who was to attend the basketball camp at Sheafe Road School. She mentioned
that there were no other twelve year old participants and he felt uncomfortable being in the
program. It was approved that the refund be given.
A letter was received from Barbara Strobeck stating that her son Joshua Gateson
and a friend were playing basketball at Martz Field on July 4, 2002 when he was hurt. It seems
that Joshua went to dunk the basketball and his hand got caught in the metal net and ripped two
of his fingers open which required a total of7 stitches. This had previously been given to
Supervisor Ruggiero so Mrs. Roe will follow up on the status of it.
An application for employment in the Senior Center was received from Anna
Novello. Mrs. DeLisa mentioned that she had spoken to Mrs. Novello and told her that we would
keep her application on file as we didn't have any open positions at this time.
A time line was received from Fellenzer Engineering giving the following time line

RECREATION DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Mr. Rottkamp mentioned that it was a busy July. He also said that we had a
successful end of summer picnic with 288 campers 44 counselors and directors plus all the
helpers. He thanked everyone for all their help with this project including Stop and Shop for the
food. There were lip sync contests and a carnival theme with snow cones, cotton candy and
popcorn. Supervisor Ruggiero was present to give out certificates of appreciation to all the
counselors and directors. Mrs. Vazquez mentioned that this was the best picnic she had been to.
He mentioned that he has a meeting in September/October with the East Fishkill
Golf Center to get information for next summers programs.
There was a discussion regarding the concerts/programs scheduled by Goowin's
Balloons and Steve Max and their rain dates. It was decided that we have to pay them because
Mr. Lowery had signed the contract stating there would be a rain site when there wasn't. We
tried to set up a subsequent date for the show but there were no suitable times for both parties.
The Klassics will be the last concert for this year on August 15th.
BOAT RAMP
Mr. Ennesser mentioned that he has ordered the boat bumpers for the ramp.
REESE PARK
Mr. Ennesser mentioned that he has received a quote from Paggi, Martin and Del
Bene in the amount of $1 ,500.00 to have a survey done at Reese Park by the 9D entrance. He
would like to proceed with this so that he can get the estimates to do the fencing.
He has submitted plans for the 22 x 30 pavilion for Reese Park to Home Depot
and is still waiting for a reply on the cost of the materials. He is still looking for someone to
build the pavilion and has gone to Dutchess Community College and BOCES.
He has ordered the sub-strate for the bulletin board for Reese Park.
Mr. Ennesser mentioned that Supervisor Ruggiero had called and wanted
information for another $25,000. grant for Reese Park. Mr. Ennesser suggested that we try to
purchase the property in the front.
Mr. Ennesser mentioned that he would like to get an estimate to fix the lights at

PLA YGROUND - MARTZ
Mrs. Korz mentioned that she has spoken with Jason Jutt and told him that he had
handled the situation with the accident very well.
HALLOWEEN
Mrs. Korz mentioned that she has started doing the letters for Halloween and has a
call into Rainbow Magical Clown. To date she has not heard from him. She mentioned that she
will call Mrs. Snowden and it was suggested that we ask Melaine Rottkamp to be the third judge.
Mr. Rottkamp said that she enjoyed doing things like this. We will also have Sylvia Holt be a
judge as in the past.
ROBINSON LANE
Mr. Chappas mentioned that there was to be a big tournament at Robinson Lane
this weekend. Mr. Holt mentioned that the guys have been out there working on the fields.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Mr. Holt mentioned the following:
1. Mrs. Peterman recently called Mr. Rottkamp again about getting her money
back from Little League Registration. We had already received a letter from her and have already
written to Mr. Farrell about this and so far the situation has not been taken care of. We will now
write to Mrs. Peterman stating that this is an issue between Little League and herself. If she
wants to go further with this it will have to be to Little League Headquarters in Williamsport. A
copy of this letter will go to Mr. Farrell and Supervisor Ruggiero.
2. We should be starting with the walkway around Robinson Lane in the fall while
fall ball is in session. The walkway should be 4' wide and about 1 mile long.
3. Mr. Holt recently attended a meeting with soccer and the following were
concerns that were addressed:
1. Holes in the parking lot. The maintenance guys were over there and
fixed this problem.

there are two wells already in the area and he would be willing to work with us on this.
3. Lining of the fields -
4. More land for soccer use.-Mr. Holt said that he has spoken with Mr.
Buyokowski regarding the possibility of obtaining more land at Airport Park when he does his
new subdivision "Shamrock" which is on Old Hopewell Road.
4. Paul Neglia, the young man we hired for the summer, will be leaving the end of
August. He worked out well and he is planning on returning during his college breaks.
5. Mr. Friedman will be sitting in while Mr. Holt is on vacation.
A discussion was held on the roller hockey equipment i.e. the bumpers goals,
trailer etc. whether we should go ahead and purchase the equipment or not. It was suggested that
if we go ahead and get the equipment for use at Myers as a temporary site it could still be used
when we get the new facility at Robinson Lane. It was suggested that we set a separate meeting
for anyone who is interested in getting something going for roller hockey.
Mr. Holt mentioned that it looks like Greystone will come to us sometime in
December. At this point they are applying for grants for the mansion. They are going to ask the
maintenance men to do some cleaning up in some of the buildings.
The 2003 budget will be coming up soon and all members were asked to look at
their areas and come back with any maintenance suggestions or items that they need for their
parks.
