TOWN OF WAPPINGER
FOR THE MARTZ FIELD EAST TENNIS COURT
RECONSTRUCTION PORJECT
JULY 15, 2013
NOTE: This Addendum forms a part of the contract documents. Acknowledge
receipt of this addendum in the appropriate location on the bid.
Based upon questions received for the 2009 Martz Field Tennis Court Reconstruction
Project, the following information or modifications to the Construction Bid and Contract
for the Martz Field East Tennis Court Reconstruction Project is being supplied by the
Engineer to clarify the project requirements and the bidding process.
This project is to be bid by one general contractor. The bidder shall specify his
proposed subcontractors and certify that they meet the minimum qualification
criteria identified in the Instructions to Bidders, Article B. The general contractor
will be responsible to coordinate his work and all the work of his subcontractors.
2. The new fence posts shall be installed so that the new tennis court pavement is
in range with the court side face of all posts. Therefore, the 4" gate and corner
posts must be set further back than the line posts so that the fence fabric falls in
one plane. The post foundation holes must be drilled and the concrete
foundation placed before the new asphalt surface is constructed. The new
asphalt pavement lifts shall be placed over the concrete fence and gate post
foundations. The footing tops will thus be level in lieu of crowned. There shall be
minimum 3/" (±'/4") clearance between the bottom selvage of the fence fabric and
the finished pavement. Concrete footing depths shall be .measured from the
finished grade outside the tennis courts.
3. The drawings refer to the use of cushioned or non-cushioned finished surface.
That is modified by this addendum, and the surface treatment shall be
cushioned.
4. On the previous bid, the question was asked: "Is it possible to be more specific
on how many coats are to be applied of each type of surface coating?" The
answer then and now is: "The number of coats of each type of surface coatings
that are to be applied shall be that which is specified by the manufacturer of the
product." Further, an addendum to the 2009 bid identified one manufacturer, but
for the current project that product is just given as an example, and equivalent
quality materials may be used. The minimum coats of surface materials shall be:
a. Filler Course: 2 coats of acrylic resurfacer blended with approved silica
sand.
