1967-06-13The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order on Tuesday, June 13, 1967, at 8:10 p.m., at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. Members Present: Thomas I. Graham, Sr. James Mills, Jr. Members Absent: Richard E. Jacobson Others Present: H. Frederick Koehler Gordon A. Hirt Joseph E. Ludewig, Building Inspector & Zoning Administrator Susan J. Pike, Secretary The Secretary read the minutes of the March 14, 1967, regular meeting. A motion was made by Gordon Hirt, seconded by James Mills, to approve the minutes of the March 14, 1967 meeting, as read. Motion Unanimously Carried Public Hearing - Appeal ## 55, at the request of James A. & Althea E. Doyle for a 4 -ft. variance of the sideyard regulations to .► permit the construction of an addition to their residence located at 53 DeGarmo Hills Road, in the Town of Wappinger. Mr. Doyle was present and came before the Board. The Board had been presented with three photographs of the Savary's home, also located on DeGarmo Hills Road, which has an addition the same as the one proposed by the Doyle's. Mr. Ludewig noted that the Savary's had obtained a variance for their addition. Mr. Koehler asked what the purpose of the addition is. Mr. Doyle stated that they have four children and they need the extra living space. He also noted that he is not going to change his existing driveway. There was no one present to speak against the application. The Chair declared the hearing closed. A motion was made by Frederick Koehler, seconded by Gordon Hirt, to grant the 4 -ft variance requested by James A. & Althea E. Doyle in Appeal # 55, to permit the construction of an addition to their residence located at 53 DeGarmo Hills Road, in the Town of Wappinger. Motion Unanimously carried Public Hearing - Appeal # 56, at the request of William M. %W Palladino, for variances of the front and side yard setback regulations to permit the construction of a patio porch addition to his residence located on the corner of Onondaga Drive and J Zoning Board of Appeals -2- June 13, 1967 Tuscarora Drive, in the Town of Wappinger. Mr. Palladino was present for his appeal and came before the Board. Mr. Ludewig presented a subdivision map. Mr. Koehler suggested the addition be placed to the rear of the house. Mr. Palladino noted that the septic tank and tile field are located in the rear yard. It was noted that the abutting owners had been notified of the hearing, in writing. Mr. Koehler asked Mr. Palladino if he would be putting himself in a position where he might not be able to extend the house further in the future if he wanted to. Mr. Palladino stated he could not foresee any future expansion. There was no one present to speak against the application. The Chair declared the hearing closed. A motion was made by Gordon Hirt, seconded by James Mills, to grant the variances of the front and side yard setback regulations as requested by William M. Palladino in Appeal # 56, to permit the construction of a patio porch addition to his residence located on the corner of Onondaga Drive and Tuscarora Drive, in the Town of "4r Wappinger. Motion Unanimously Carried A motion was made by James Mills, seconded by Gordon Hirt, to adjourn the meeting.
