1963-09-17The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 1963, at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Members present were: Kermit Becker Robert L'Archevesque Wilmer Ifill Others present were: Joseph Ludewig Madeline Evans John Zwynenburg Thomas Graham Minutes of the previous meeting (August 20, 1963) were read and approved. A discussion was held on the revision of the Appeal form and the action form. Mr. Zwynenburg brought in a draft which was reviewed and accepted if granted approval by the Town Attorney. A discussion was held by Mr. Ludewig and the Board on the inter- pretation of the Zoning Ordinance. The question was brought up - if a trailer that has been on the property for some time is replaced by a larger, better looking trailer, does it have to be brought in to the Appeals Board? It was decided that Mr. Ludewig should bring each one in for individual approval. A discussion was held on whether someone could put up a garage I%r and live in it (equipping it as a house). The answer was that any dwelling must be at least 600 square feet to be lived in and the garage would have to equal this amount of space. Discussion - if a person bought a tract of 50 acres, how many families could he have in an RD20 area. Answer - 115 with sewer and water. A man on Widmer Road who has owned his house since 1942 wants to square up his house. This will not increase his non -conformity. Can he do it? A motion was made by Mr. L'Archevesque that before a decision can be made by the Board, the cases presented by the Building Inspector should be presented by the applicants on a formal basis. Motion seconded by Mtv Zwynenburg and passed unanimously. Motion made to adjourn by Mr. L'Archevesque and seconded by Mr. Ifill. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Madeline S. Evans, Secretary Approved 10/15/63
