Rohde,Soyka&Andrews (3)INSTITUTIONAL PROJECTS Marist College Hancock Center, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project includes design and construction of a new 57,000 square foot academic building for use by the mathematics and computer science departments as well as Marist College Institute for Public Opinion (Marist Poll). Services include design of site improvements, utility connections, re-alignment of campus road, preparation of Environmental Assessment Form and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), obtaining Final Site Plan Approval from the Planning Board and height variance from Zoning Board of Appeals, preparation of technical specifications and project drawings, and coordination with other design consultants. `Green' aspects of the project include a vegetated green roof, permeable pavers for parking and energy-saving and energy-efficient products within the building, such as auto-dimming overhead lights during daylight hours. Construction is anticipated to begin in April 2009 with an estimated completion date of October 2010. Project cost is currently estimated to be $35,000,000. Marist College North Campus Parking Expansion, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project includes the design and construction of the expansion of an existing parking lot at the north end of Marist College campus. The number of total parking spaces will be increased by 41. Traffic circulation within the parking lot and the access-way connection to Marist College northern properties will be improved. The buffer between Route 9 and the parking lot will have increased vegetative screening and a stone wall to improve the visual aesthetics along Route 9. Services include design of the expanded parking lot, new lighting, new landscaping, preparation of Environmental Assessment Form and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), obtaining Final Site Plan Approval from the Planning Board and preparation of bid documents, including specifications and project drawings. The construction cost is estimated to be $250,000. Construction is anticipated to begin in March 2009 and end in May 2009. Marist College Student Housing Phase IV, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project included design and construction of seven (7) townhouse-style student housing buildings, parking lot and associated site work. Services included design of site improvements, utility connections, stormwater management, development of Environmental Assessment Form and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), obtaining Final Site Plan Approval from the Planning Board and an area variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals, preparation of technical specifications and drawings, coordination with other design consultants, construction oversight and inspections, fteld testing of new utility connections and stormwater retention structures, erosion and sediment control inspections and maintenance of the SWPPP. Project cost: $27,000,000. Construction was completed in August 2008. Marist College Waterfront -Longview Park, Poughkeepsie, NY: Full site design services including floating dock for two (2) boathouses, fixed pier for large (up to 200-ton) non-motorized boats, steel sheet pile and riprap bulkhead design, site utilities with crossing under the Metro-North Hudson main line railroad, walkways, roads, parking lots, pavilion with overlook point, erosion control, stormwater quality treatment and related works. Services included development of Environmental Assessment Form and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), site plan application and approvals from Town of Poughkeepsie Planning Board, Nationwide Permit applications and approvals from US Army Corps of Engineers, development of TEA-21 documents for transportation enhancement funding from the Federal Highway Association and NYS Department of Transportation, and other related application procedures. Services further included development of bid documents, including project drawings and specifications, and administration of the bidding, contract award and construction processes. Services during construction included construction inspections, erosion and sediment control inspections and documentation, and TEA-21 inspections and documentation. Project cost: $4,000,000. Construction was completed in September 2006. Institutional Projects continued Marist College Student Housing Phase III, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project included design and construction of eight (8) townhouse-style student housing buildings, parking lot and associated site work. Services included design of site improvements, utility connections, stormwater management, development of Environmental Assessment Form, obtaining Final Site Plan Approval from the Planning Board, preparation of technical specifications and project drawings, coordination with other design consultants, construction oversight and inspections, and field testing of new utility connections. Project cost: $16,000,000.. Construction was completed in October 2005. Marist College Main Campus, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project included the construction of an addition to the existing student center, the construction of a new five story residence hall and the construction of nine townhouse structures on the Marist College campus. An existing parking lot on campus was removed and replaced by a Campus Center Addition; a Mid Rise Residents Hall and a landscaped campus green. Anew ring road was constructed around the new parking facility and residence hall connecting to the existing roadway adjacent to the student center. The project also included the relocation and improvement of on-site utilities on the south side of Waterworks Road. We were retained to provide the design of all infrastructure utilities, site work and landscaping for this project. The estimated construction cost for the site and utility work was $5 million. Completion date: 1994. Marist ISTEA Hudson River Overlook, Poughkeepsie, NY: This project included the design of the Campus Green along with walkways, overlook walk, irrigation system, relocation of electrical switch gears and 400 amp electrical service for the Campus Green renovations. Services included preparation of bid documents in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, field visit for compliance with bid documents, contract administration, wage rate interviews and certifications. The approximate construction cost was $514,000. The work was completed in 1995. Marist College Library, Town of Poughkeepsie, NY: Prepared site plans and specifications for the new library. Site work required demolition of two existing buildings in preparation for the new three-story library, coordination of buried utilities, grading and connecting roads and walkways. Prepare Environmental Assessment and sought and acquired Final Site Plan approval. St. Augustine Parish Hall, Highland, NY: Preparation of architectural drawings fora 4,700 square foot addition to the school, which included a science lab, meeting room and preschool center. Project cost: $700,000. Project completion date 2007. Beacon City School District Bus Maintenance Garage: We developed construction plans and specifications for the concrete foundation/slab on grade system for an 8,700 square feet bus maintenance garage containing offices, bathrooms, storage, four maintenance bays and one wash bay. Architectural and structural construction documents were also provided fora 19,200 square feet ,bus storage garage. Structural design of fueling facilities (pump island and canopy) for the district=s buses was also provided. Project required placement of buildings in a low wet site. A controlled structural fill and surcharging of the building pads were designed as part of the foundation system. Complete site plan design (parking, utilities, lighting, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control fora 4-acre site) was included. Completion date: August 1997. Project cost: $2,700,000. Institutional Projects continued Beacon City School District -District Wide Capital Improvements: Our portion of this project involved preparation of construction plans and specifications for miscellaneous site improvement work at each of the District school facilities. The work included drainage improvements; removal, replacement and reconstruction of various parking areas and access roads (including correction of the underlying cause of deterioration), expansion., and efficiency improvements of existing parking facilities and bus loading areas, refurbishment of existing playgrounds and play equipment including replacement of the playground surface to bring all such playgrounds into compliance with appropriate standards. All school sites are existing and for the most part would be considered inner-city schools, thereby being constrained in terms of size and available area for such improvements. Services were provided during the course of construction. Completion date: August 1997. Estimated Construction Cost of the site improvement portion only: $550,000. Dann Classroom .Renovations -Trinity Pawling School: The school wanted to convert a basement workshop and storage area into four classrooms, student locker area, bathrooms and teacher=s office for its new Middle School Program. The project required installing full-sized windows in basement walls, cutting and shoring interior bearing walls to install new doors and passageways and installing new bathroom facilities. This renovation is (ADA) accessible to the disabled. We provided complete architectural, structural and plumbing design services. This project was completed September 1996. Project cost: $340,000. Day Treatment and Workshop Training Facilities for Rehab Programs Inc. Rehab Programs provides comprehensive services to many disabled people in Dutchess County. They recently had the opportunity to consolidate and improve some of its training and treatment facilities by renovating nearly 40,000 square feet in two adjacent buildings on Overocker Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The renovations included the creation of six program areas, offices, bathrooms, nurse=s office, cafeteria, storage and. office areas, plus areas for other support functions. The renovated facilities are disability (ADA) accessible and comply with the requirements of the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmentally Disabled. Design and construction was completed in less than five months. We prepared all of the construction documents and provided engineering services during construction for these renovations. Project completion: January 1997. Project cost: $500,000. St. Augustine Elementary School, Highland, NY: Complete Architectural and Engineering services were provided fora 3,500 sq. ft. addition, which included two classrooms, a small library, a computer classroom and a handicap bathroom. Project completion Summer 1992. Project cost: $250,000. Daytop Village Foundation, Inc. Rohde, Soyka & Andrews Consulting Engineers, P.C. was retained to provide the construction plans and specifications for two wastewater treatment plants and their associated collector systems in Dutchess County. One treatment plant will provide secondary level of treatment and one will provide tertiary level of treatment. D WATERFRONT STRUCTURES Main Street Dock Replacement -Hudson River, City of Poughkeepsie: Engineering services were provided for the reconstruction of an existing tour boat dock on the Hudson River for the City of Poughkeepsie. Permits were obtained from the Army Corps of Engineers and other regulatory agencies. The design services included an underwater survey of the river around the dock, inspecting and testing the existing piles for re-use, complete construction documents and construction monitoring. The dock is "T" shaped and extends 80 ft. into the river. The dock superstructure was replaced, new batter and fender piles were driven and lights were installed on the dock. This $146,000 project was completed in December 1993. Floating Dock - Waryas Park, City of Poughkeepsie: Prepared plans and specifications for replacement of a floating dock on the Hudson River. The new dock was designed for commercial tour boat and private boating use. The dock (10' x 40') is an aluminum steel frame design with two (2) access ramps. The dock is designed to be removed at the end of each boating season. Dock anchorages were reconstructed. Total project cost $18,000. Project was completed in 1994.. Breasting Dolphins -Main Street Dock, City of Poughkeepsie: Prepared plans and specifications for installation of two (2) breasting dolphins, to protect the Main Street Dock from larger boats during foul weather and during berthing operations. Each dolphin is constructed of thirteen (13) 25 ton rated pressure treated piles. These dolphins are designed to resist impact loads from boats having a maximum displacement of 300 tons and to resist tidal ice loads. Estimated construction cost $60,000. Construction is pending. City of Beacon Ferry Pier Restoration -Hudson River, City of Beacon: The City of Beacon has long recognized the need to reestablish year-round passenger ferry service between the Cities of Newburgh and Beacon. A joint application for a permit to reconstruct the 1858 Beacon Ferry Dock is being sought from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation -and the United States Army Corp of Engineers. The proposed pier deck is approximately 3,900 sq. ft. of area. Our services included preparation of the joint permit application, underwater survey of the dock site, structural assessment of the existing piles, design of the replacement pier deck and concrete bulkhead, plus services during construction. Project cost is $640,000. Construction was completed. in Fall 2003.
