Weston&Sampson (7)Town of Wappinger, New York Planning Board -Civil Engineering Services QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES ~"` Weston & Sampson has New York offices in both the Hudson Valley region (Poughkeepsie) and in the Capital District (Rensselaer). Our Rensselaer office is literally within direct sight of the NYSDEC headquarters in downtown Albany and other state agencies. This allows us to be in r"` constant contact with the leading regulators in New York State (NYS). We routinely call on and visit department heads of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) for updates and clarifications, and we are on contact lists to receive notifications of impending changes in regulations. State Departments are conscientious about scheduling seminars to update design professionals about new regulations, and these sessions always start in the Capital District before moving to other parts of the state, making it convenient for our staff from either office to attend. Similarly, the NYS Department of Health is located in Troy, and a field office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) is located in nearby Watervliet. g Being in proximity to regulatory officials provides the opportunity to develop good working relationships, which is a key factor in the success of projects. ir. Our New York offices have ready access to our Federal Projects Group, headquartered in Peabody Massachusetts. The Team Leaders of this practice group are well versed in all federal regulations, including changes and updates, and we use weekly video conferences between Iw offices to share news and updates of regulations on a federal and multi-state level. Other practice leaders in water, wastewater, and stormwater are similarly responsible for disseminating regulatory bulletins for their respective practices. Weston & Sampson's staff has demonstrated, excellent relationships with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ACOE, NYSDEC, New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and other regulatory agencies, having provided successful consulting services for New York municipal infrastructure projects for more than 50 years. We are currently coordinating with staff in the NYSDEC Region 3 Tarrytown Office on several projects, including infiltration/inflow (I/I) studies and previous treatment plant studies for the Village of Tuxedo Park Wastewater System and an on-site wastewater treatment system upgrade and permitting assistance for the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson. We are also familiar with the application process for funding projects through the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation. In addition, our work routinely involves coordination with local municipal agencies including planning boards, building departments, and state and county health departments. We fully understand the planning board process from the Town's as well as the applicant's perspectives. Our comprehensive and straightforward application of the SEAR process has expedited approvals and implementation on many projects. Our efforts will provide comprehensive interpretive and analytical expertise needed to support the Town to serve the best interests of the people and the environment. Our firm has been assisting various client groups with www.westonandsampson.com Westo~ampson® Page 24 +. t Town of Wappinger, New York Planning Board -Civil Engineering Services QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES environmental compliance in their review of applicant-prepared documentation and in developing documentation for projects they have directly undertaken. We have assisted project owners in processing for environmental compliance through lead agencies, and our experience, therefore, provides us with a rounded perspective. We have learned the process must be thorough and transparent in identifying and fully evaluating issues-practices, which we will encourage throughout this assignment. i.
