I would like to ask your permission to bring in Frank McKinney and Bernie Roe for the
season to work with our Maintenance Department. I am requesting that they start their
seasonal work on March 26`h based on your approval at the March 24`h Town Board
meeting.
Also returning will be Jeff DeChristopher and Alex Pilouris as seasonal employees.
Their exact date of return is not known as they are college students. Their expected return
date will be shortly after May ls`, 2008. We ask for your approval as these young men
are excellent workers.
We also request your permission to bring on two (2) new seasonal employees. John
Migliore will be replacing Tom Franzese as Frank McKinney's mowing partner. Vincent
LaVacca will also be a seasonal employee designated to Martz Field. Mr. LaVacca lives
across the street from the park and will serve us well in upkeep of the facility, as well as a
watchful eye to control the vandalism that has been occurring at this playground. We ask
that they also be allowed to begin work on March 26`h based on your approval at the
March 24`h Town Board Meeting.
Our first priority is to start cleaning up winter debris at all of our Recreation parks and
locations. The mowing season is right around the corner and the equipment has been
prepped and ready to go. Bringing these workers in now will give us a good start in
getting ready for the spring/summer season.
There are three other persons that we will be bringing in as needed and those are the
caretakers for Robinson Lane, Reese Park and Castle Point. Maricelle Diaz, at Robinson
Lane needs to begin opening the park and maintaining the bathrooms before April Vt to
(OVER)
allow the fish stocking of the creek and to allow the fishing season to begin there. Alan
Ford, at Reese Park, will begin to open the gate and the bathroom on April 13"'. Theresa
DeRosa, at Castle Point will begin opening that park and maintaining the bathroom on
April 27th as we have a men's softball team beginning there in May 4th.
Forthcoming, if necessary, will be a complete schedule of our plans for Recreation
Maintenance for the remainder of 2008. as there are still some vacant pernlanent
positions that need to be filled.
