As in the past, notificati n of the Spring Bulk pickup dates cannot be released
until the Town Board a proves the bid, which is scheduled for 4/14/08. This is
necessary because the Board could consider the bids to be unacceptable and
reject the bids and ord r them to be re -bid. Once the dates are released it puts
unreasonable pressure on the Board to accept the bids as is, which is unfair to
the Board.
Residents are asked In t to place items at the curb sooner than 48 hours before
pickup on Monday of a ch scheduled week. We have been getting calls at the
Highway Dept. since F bruary. We tell residents that they will be notified in
advance of cleanup.
If you remember, when you were on the Board, we did not release any dates
upfront. Each section as individually notified prior to their first pickup. The
intent was not to notify nyone too early. Once notified we found some residents
put items out 10 weeks in advance, which created an eyesore on the entire
community and added ork for our enforcement personnel.
