Resolution Establishing Fees for Town of Wappinger Summer Day Programs
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February
12th, 2007.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilwoman McCarthy and seconded by
Councilman Bettina.
WHEREAS, the Recreation Department has established two summer camp programs for
Town of Wappinger residents in which all camps will have hours between 9AM and 3PM, and
an additional program in which Spook Hill and Martz Field will have extended hours between
8AM and 4PM; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has requested to establish the fee of One
Hundred Dollars and 00/100 ($100.00) per child to attend the Town of Wappinger Summer
Camp program, and a fee of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars and 00/100 ($150.00) for Town of
Wappinger Summer Camp with extended hours at Spook Hill and Martz Field; and
WHEREAS, Recreation has requested to establish the fee for the fishing program to be
Thirty -Five Dollars and 00/100 ($35.00) per child; and
WHERAS, Recreation has requested that the fee for the gymnastics program be
established at Thirty -Five Dollars and 00/100 ($35.00) per child for Town of Wappinger
residents and Fifty Dollars and 00/100 ($50.00) per non-resident
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Town Board has authorized the Town
of Wappinger Recreation Department to charge a fee of One Hundred Dollars and 00/100
($100.00) per child to attend Town of Wappinger Summer Camp Program and One Hundred and
Fifty Dollars and 00/100 ($150.00) for camp with extended hours.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the fee for the fishing program is hereby
established at Thirty -Five Dollars and 00/100 ($35.00) per child, and the fee for the gymnastics
program is established at Thirty -Five Dollars and 00/100 ($35.00) per child for Town of
Wappinger residents and Fifty Dollars and 00/100 ($50.00) per non-resident.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

RE: EXTENDED HOURS FOR SUMMER PLAYGROUNDS
For several years the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission has been discussing
the possibility of extending our Summer Playground Program hours to allow working
parents more flexibility. Last year all four playgrounds were open from 9AM to 3PM,
Monday through Friday. We are hoping to extend the hours at Spook Hill and Martz
Field from the aforementioned times to 8AM to 4PM.
It is our plan to bring in our Directors and Counselors in two shifts. The first shift will be
from 8AM to 2PM and the second shift from I OAM to 4PM. It is not known at this time
the number of counselors that will be necessary to implement this program as it depends
on the number of children who register.
If this is agreeable, we would like to charge those taking advantage of the extended
hours, $150.00 per child. Those signing up for our regular program would still pay
$100.00 per child. If you concur, we will forward this letter to the Town Board.
We are asking for your approval at this time so that the appropriate information can be
put in the 2007-2008 Recreation Guide by the deadline of February 16th, 2007.

The Town of Wappingers Recreation Commission is requesting, in order to equalize
incoming and outgoing funds, a raise in fees for two of our Recreation Programs.
We request that Fishing, which will start on June 25, 2007, be raised from $30 to $35 per
child/per session. (In this program, non-residents are not eligible to attend.)
We are also requesting that Gymnastics, which will not begin again until January 2008,
be raised from $30 to $35 per child. (The non-resident fee for this program will be $50.)
The importance of approval at this early date is necessary so that this information may be
included in our 2007-2008 Recreation Guide. The last chance for editing this information
will be February 16, 2007.
