Resolution Appointing Recreation Committee Member
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on the
3/27/2006.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Paoloni and seconded by
Councilwoman McCarthy.
WHEREAS, the Wappinger Town Board has found Bruce Lusting to be the individual
capable of filling the vacancy for the Recreation Committee
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mr. Bruce Lusting is hereby appointed
to the Town of Wappinger Recreation Committee.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

Our Town Recreation Committee is down two (2) members with the resignation and
move of Mr. Ron Friedman to Florida (Effective 12/31/05). It will become increasingly
difficult to provide a quorum for our planned monthly meetings if we don't backfill this
opening.
We have been seeking replacements and have come up with a candidate that all of us in
Recreation recognize and feel comfortable with. We believe he would be a great
addition. Attached is a copy of Mr. Bruce Lustig's resum6. We seek your approval to
add Mr. Lustig as a member of our Recreation Committee. We are continuing to seek
another candidate to fill the one remaining opening and hope to follow up this request
with another possible candidate in the near future.

I would definitely wish to be considered for and would be honored to serve in a position as a
Committee Member of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Department. Below is a brief resume'
4— your consideration.
J*aduated college with a BA degree in psychology from Rutgers University, Newark College o
Arts and Sciences where I was a member of the school's wrestling team. I then was drafted into
the United States Army where I served for 18 months as a Medical Aid, While in the service I took
on some graduate work in Public Personnel Administration offered by George Washington
University. Upon discharge from the service I began my current employment where I still. am 32
years later with the Social Security Administration. Since 1995 I have been assigned to the
Newburgh NYDistrict Office as a Technical Expert. My duties include work as a Claims
Representative for both routine and complex cases, instructor and mentor to other employees, and
monitoring local organizations who serve as Representative Payee to ensure they properly utilize
the funds they receive on behalf of their incapable clients.
I first became involved in Community activities while residing in Emerson NJ. I assisted and then
coached one of the town's two youth soccer teams for 3 years. My family and I relocated to
Wappingers Falls in 1987 and since 1989 I have been involved in activities with the Wappinger
United Soccer Club serving as coach of both travel and intramural teams and as a member of the
Board of Directors for the past 10 years: For the Wappinger's Soccer club I have been age group
coordinator for various age groups, intramural director, and vice president. Currently I am the
Senior -Co-ed intramural director coordinating both the Wappinger and inter -town intramural
programs for the teams for ages 11 through 19 excluding the young ladies who choose to play on
,girls teams. My philosophy in participating in the Soccer recreation program is to both provide
oyment for the youth and to hopefully assist them in developing themselves into future
responsible adults in the community. Several of the players that I have coached have moved on to
become coaches themselves. I have also acted as the Soccer Club's representative at various Town
Recreation functions including the Community Day parade, Halloween activities and December
Holiday gatherings.
My wife Patricia, our 3 children and myself have all participated in and benefited from the
activities offered through the Recreation programa Our oldest daughter now aged 23 and living
on her own looks forward to having our 3 year old granddaughter becoming involved in the
activities. Our 20 year old daughter and 14 year old son who both still reside at home also look
forward to continued Recreational activities. Although our community activities prinzarfiy involve
the Soccer program, I feel that I would be committed to the Recreation Department by continuing
their goal of striving to provide for the "quality of life"for all; youth, adults and our senior
citizens.
