Resolution Authorizing Purchase Order for Repairs and Replacement of Water Softeners
at Carnwath Farms
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on July 5th,
2006.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Paoloni and seconded by
Councilman Valdati.
WHEREAS, 28th,
Ennesser, a member of the recreation commission, has requested in
a letter dated June 28 , 2006, which is attached hereto, for two water softeners to be repaired,
and one water softener to be replaced at the Carnwath Farms, and
WHEREAS, Joseph Ennesser received a estimate for repairs and replacement of water
- softeners at Carnwath Farms from All-Star Water Softener Co. who is the sole source provider:
Description Price
Repair of 2 main units (2" Piping) $5295.00
16" x 65"
1 -Single Unit to be replaced (boiler room) $1395.00
8" x 44" replace with 10" x 44"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Town of Wappinger Town Board
hereby approves a purchase order in the amount of Six Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Dollars
and 00/100 ($6,690.00) to All-Star Water Softener Co. for repair and replacement of water
softeners at Carnwath Farms.

.Subject; Water softners at Carnwath Farms
Dear Joe;
Back in September of 2005 the subject units were
inspected by Camo Pollution .to find they were the cause
for showing constant water usage at Carnwath as was
noted by low water level at the water holding area. The
problem area turned out to be the valve mechanism
not working properly within the two main softener units,
causing water to run off continually into drain. The
constant water run off was corrected by placing units
on bypass leaving untreated water to flow throughout
the building from that time to present. The third unit
connected to hot water side at the boilers was totally
disintegrated from lack of use and maintenance and
was already non operable. As a result of this inspection
I took the liberty to call the vendor of the original
installation All-Star Water Softener Co. for an estimate to
repair and replace existing units.
Estimates:
2 - main units ( 2" piping)
16" x 6511 ---------- $ 5295
1- Single Unit ( boiler roots
8" x 44" replace with
10" x 4411 ---------- $1395
Total $ 6690

It is recommended that this be corrected in the near
future as a preventive measure, saving on potential and
expensive plumbing problems down the line .especially
on the hot water system.
