2005-110RESOLUTION NO. 2005-110 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FIRE INSPECTOR TO ATTEND CAPITAL DISTRICT BUILDING OFFICIALS CONFERENCE At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on August 29, 2005 at 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the following were present: PRESENT: Supervisor - Councilmember- ABSENT: Joseph Ruggiero Robert L. Valdati Vincent F. Bettina Joseph P. Paoloni Maureen McCarthy The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Valdati by Ms. McCarthy and seconded WHEREAS, the Town Board received a letter by Mark Liebermann, Fire Inspector, dated July 25, 2005, a copy of which is attached hereto, requesting authorization to allow Mark Liebermann, Fire Inspector to attend the Annual Capital District Building Officials Educational Conference on October 17, 18, 19 at the Holiday Inn, in Colonie, New York. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mark Liebermann, Fire Inspector, is hereby authorized to attend the Capital District Building Officials Educational Conference on October 17, 18, 19 at the Holiday Inn.in Colonie, New York, at a cost not to exceed Seven Hundred Ten 00/100 ($710.00). VALDATI Subject: CAPITAL DISTRICT BUILDING OFFICIALS CONFERENCE I request approval to attend the 13th Annual Capital District Building Officials Educational Conference which will be held in Albany, NY at the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road from October 16th -20th, 2005. This conference will be credited by the NYS/DOS Codes Division regarding the 24 hours of in service training that is needed to maintain NYS Certification. CAPITAL DMSTRMCT CHAPTER Dear Building and Fire Officials, NYSBOC Members and Friends, It is with great pleasure that I am writing to invite you to the Thirteenth Annual Capi- tal District Building Officials Education Conference. The conference will again be held at the Holiday Inn Turf on Wolf Road in Colonie. The dates for the conference are October 17, 18 & 19 with early registration and hospitality on Sunday the 16th. The cost for the entire three days is $245.00 or $110.00 for a single day. The cost covers breaks, lunch and dinner on Mon- day and entertainment on Tuesday and all study materials as provided by the instructors. Those of you who have attended in the past are aware of what an ideal education setting the Holiday Inn provides for us and how informative our seminars are. For those who have not previously attended, you will find excellent food and accommodations and the absolute best in learning atmosphere and opportunity. Enclosed you will find reservation forms for the school and for the hotel. Please detach / copy them and send your reservations in as soon as possible. Also enclosed are the tentative Conference topics that outline the classes offered. All the courses have been designed to help building and fire officials and design professionals in their daily jobs. They also meet the requirements necessary for in-service training as prescribed by Title 19NYCRR. The Conference this year will include topics such as Code Updates, Steel Frame Pole Buildings, Stainless Steel Flood Vents, Hazardous Materials, Fire Stopping, Violence in the Workplace. On Tuesday we will travel to the Fire Training Center for a live Floor Assembly Bum and Harmony Mills for some live demonstrations and inspections on multiple housing. This year marks the twelfth anniversary of the Capital District Conference along with the implementation of the new Building Code. The Conference Committee has put together the best program yet.
