RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY TRIMMING AND CULLING
OF TREES AROUND POWER LINES AT CARNWATH FARMS
At a special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappingers, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 5t' day of October, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Paoloni and
seconded by Mr. Valdati
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee has requested a purchase order for
trimming and culling trees around power lines at Carnwath Farms, and
WHEREAS, Recreation Commission Member Joseph Ennesser has received bids
from the following companies for trimming and culling around power lines at Carnwarth
Farms:
Dietz Tree Service Inc.
Tamarack Forestry Service Inc.
Ed Baisely Tree Service
$29,400.00
$13,500.00
No Bid
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee has requested a purchase order in the
amount of Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred and 00/100 ($13,500.00) to Tamarack
Forestry Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. Payment is approved in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred dollars.
($13,500.00) made payable to.Tamarack Forestry Service from account
A-1620.450 in accordance with the letter dated September 24, 2005 from Joseph
Ennesser a member of the Recreation Commission.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

Subject; Our meeting of 9/12/05 on Carnwath powerlines
Dear Joe;
As per our recent meeting we made you aware of the
ongoing power losses being experienced at Carnwath along
the power line corridors as a result the tree overgrowth
encroachment of the power service lines. It seems that
whenever we get a heavy wind or rain we loose power ,
the facilities emergency generator starts up, and runs until
the roadside utility pole lines are reset. This being a
frequent situation over the last month and certainly to
become more of a problem during the later part of fall
and oncoming winter storms, we took the liberty of going
forward to get estimates for culling and trimming around
all main power lines. Our first attempt was to get help from
Central Hudson ( Denise Van Buren ) however they no
longer provide that service, especially when all the service
poles belong to the town. Central Hudson did give us names
of a couple of their fully qualified contractors which we
pursued for estimates, along with a more local contractor
and they are as follows;

Again we would like to reiterate this becomes a major
need to get this work done, especially with the anticipated
recreation offices moving to the Carnwath administration
building in the near term.
