RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR TOWN
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 121 day of April, 2004, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Mr- RP r t i na and seconded by
Ms. MCCarthy
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee has requested a purchase order for a new
mower deck, and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission received bids as follows:
Pine Plains Tractor & Equipment $2,984.00
Chambers Tractors Sales, Inc. $3,749.00
Westchester Ford No response
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee has requested a purchase order in the
amount of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Four and 00/100 ($2,984.00) payable to
Pine Plains Tractor and Equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this resolution as if fully
set forth and adopted herein.
2. A purchase order is hereby authorized in the amount of Two Thousand
Nine Hundred Eighty Four dollars and 00/100 ($2,984.00) payable to
Pine Plains Tractor and Equipment payable from Account HMM-
7110.200, in accordance with a letter dated April 6, 2004 from Peggy Roe,
Recreation Secretary to the Town Board.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

While in the performance of their winter duties our maintenance people
discovered that the mower deck on one of our older tractors was in bad shape and
wouldn't last. This mower is used as a backup and I believe we should have that
flexibility. A new mower would cost $26,000. We can purchase a new mower deck for
$2,984.00 from Pine Plains Tractor, and Equipment, Inc.
The following are the quotes that we received:
Pine Plains Tractor & Equipment $2,984.00
Chambers Tractor Sales, Inc. $3,749.00
Both Mr. Tompkins and Mrs. Roe called Westchester Ford (Pete) several
times. They kept telling them that they would fax a quote and nothing was ever received.
If this request is approved we ask permission to obtain a P.O. payable to
Pine Plains Tractor and Equipment and the funds would come from recreation account
