Resolution Appointing Seasonal Recreation Employees
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 9a',
2008.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:
PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey

Maureen McCarthy (arrived at 7:52 PM)

ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Bettina and seconded by
Councilwoman McCarthy.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Recreation Director has requested, in a letter dated
March 13, 2008, authority to hire certain persons as seasonal parks (labor) employees.
WHEREAS, the following employees were approved for hire on a seasonal basis in
accordance with the approved 2008 Town Budget (A7110.100):

WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Recreation Director has requested, in a letter dated
May 22, 2008, authority to hire Maxwell Dolenk as a seasonal parks (labor) employee in the
place of Alex Pilouris, who has declined an employment offer for 2008.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Recreation Director is hereby
authorized to initiate employment with the aforementioned in accordance with the practices and
policies of the Town of Wappinger.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any and all employees utilizing Town vehicles
must provide proof of a valid driver's license for the purpose of notice to the Town of
Wappinger liability insurer.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

At the March 20, 2008 Town Board Meeting the Recreation Department submitted, for
approval, the names of our returning Maintenance Dept. employees. This request was
granted.
It was expected that Jeff DeChristopher and Alex Pilouris would be returning for work in
mid-May and continue to work, at least, through the end of camp season.
We have now been made aware that Jeff DeChristopher will only be in for 5 weeks from
mid May to the end of June. Alex Pilouris will not be returning at all as he has an
internship with NBC television.
We are asking permission to bring on Maxwell Dolenk to fill Alex's position at a pay rate
of $9.27 an hour. He has been interviewed and we feel that he will be a productive
addition to our team.
Please let us know at your earliest convenience of your decision so that we may have Mr.
Dolenk start work and bring him up to speed before our camp season begins.
