RESOLUTION NO. 2002-150
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE BIDDING FOR TICK CONTROL SPRAYING
The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Paoloni and seconded by
Mr. Bettina
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee recommends the spraying of the Town of
Wappinger Recreation Areas for the control of ticks; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee anticipates the cost of said tick control spraying
to exceed Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Recreation
Committee, Ralph J. Holt, is hereby authorized to prepare bidding specifications for the spraying
of Town of Wappinger Recreation Areas for the control of ticks, and upon completion of said
specifications to authorize same to be let for public bid in accordance with the Town of
Wappinger's Procurement Policy and the letter dated April 8, 2002 from Ralph J. Holt the Town
Board Members.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Joseph E. Paggi, Jr., P.E., Engineer to the Town
Of Wappinger, is hereby authorized to assist in the preparation of said specifications.

Enclosed is a memo from Ralph Holt requesting two purchase orders for tick
spraying. One purchase order is for the May spraying, and the other is for the
July spraying. Please draft a resolution authorizing these purchase orders. This
resolution will be placed on the May 13th agenda. If you have any questions

In the 2002 Recreation budget A-7110.4 there are funds for the spraying of the
recreation areas for the control of ticks.
During the May/June time frame the larvae of the ticks are more predominant and
therefore, we would like to request a P.O. payable to the N.Y. Tick Control, Inc. in the amount of
$4,575.00 for the May spraying of the following areas:
Castle Point
$1,000.00
Martz Field
$425.00
Rockingham
$ 500.00
Schlathaus Park
$150.00
Robinson Lane
$1,850.00
Quiet Acres
$250.00
Airport Park
$ 300.00
Spook Hill
$100.00
We would also like to request a second P.O. in the same amount ($4,575.00) for
the second spraying which will take place in July.
